Re: Any other Eagle Scouts here?
For sure- getting Eagle at 14 is really stinkin' hard to do!
If there is anything I’ve learned from both conservatives and liberals, it’s that we can have all the “right” answers and still be mean. And when you’re mean, it’s hard for people to listen to, much less desire, your truth.

Re: Any other Eagle Scouts here?
Maybe I should mention that I had almost absolutely no life outside of the Boy Scouts until I got Eagle and started High School.
Okay, I finally have a blog.

Re: Any other Eagle Scouts here?
That's too young I think. I'd be in favor of adding more requirements to lengthen the time. Becoming an eagle scout isn't a one time thing it is a gradual process over many year in adolescence. I think gaining it hat quickly loses a lot of the import and true benefits by coming so young and so quickly./

Well, if you'll see my comments we both started work on it at the same time, and got it at the same time--just that he started a year younger.
He's now on the fast track to being a laser scientist.Okay, I finally have a blog.

Me too. I do, on the other hand, remember how to build a twelve foot high bonfire (not counting the fire itself) with a stable structure.
The Piedmont fire department fondly remembers my troop. Incidentally so did the Philmont staff in 1996, albeit not for the same reason.
Okay, I finally have a blog.

Me too, same ages. Had a far better time the second time around, and I'd give anything to go back.
