Revelation 1:7, and the "seeing"

In my attempt to get my mind around preterism, this seems to be another "stumbling" verse for me.

So my questions are: can the Greek words for "eye" and "see" be understood in a non-literal sense? Are there cases where those Greek words are used in a non-literal sense?

I think that both are used non-literally in Revelation 3:18 (NASB).

I advise you to buy from Me gold refined by fire so that you may become rich, and white garments so that you may clothe yourself, and that the shame of your nakedness will not be revealed; and eye salve to anoint your eyes so that you may see.

As a supplement or addendum to my prior post above, consider the usage of ὁράωSeesee one of the days of the Son of Man, but you will not see it.
