Wink We Are Saved By Faith With The Help Of Works

What doth it profit, my brethren, though a man say he hath faith, and have not works? can faith save him?
15: If a brother or sister be naked, and destitute of daily food,
16: And one of you say unto them, Depart in peace, be ye warmed and filled; notwithstanding ye give them not those things which are needful to the body; what doth it profit?
17: Even so faith, if it hath not works, is dead, being alone KJB
Have you read the BEATITUDES,NOWread Matt5:3-10

"For by faith are you saved through faith, and not of yourselves, it is the gift of G_d, not of works, lest any man should boast" Eph 2:8-9

You'll note the passage you cited is commentary on different types of faith - that is, a spoken faith (shallow) versus a real faith that effects a person's actions. True faith will produce works but works do not produce salvation.

The problems you have are many, not the least of which is: If good works are the result of Christ working through us then how can he work through us before we are saved to produce the works necessary to save us?

faith, if it hath not works, is dead
      So it isn't faith.

Faith has works. Catholics don't have noticeable works, mostly- they get monks and nuns to be 'good' for them. And none of them have any faith whatever, except a foolish optimism that their eternity in hell will be worth their ten easy minutes of this life.

I am not Catholic, but I find that rather offensive and way off topic!! I pray one day you find some of your good works lead you to really getting to know some Catholics....as human beings that Jesus also died for.

I do know Catholics, and have been privileged to help some to know the Lord. But the plain fact is that most Catholics behave no differently from decent pagans, and sometimes rather worse. ('Professional' Catholics are often among the very worst people on earth, but that goes for many Prot 'professionals', too.)

What do you mean Professional Catholics?

I have no idea. It's not a term I would use.
