John 14:16-17

16 And I will pray the Father, and he shall give you another Comforter, that he may abide with you for ever;

17 Even the Spirit of truth; whom the world cannot receive, because it seeth him not, neither knoweth him: but ye know him; for he dwelleth with you, and shall be in you.

26 But the Comforter, which is the Holy Ghost, whom the Father will send in my name

Comforter=Spirit of truth=Holy Ghost-->the Father sends in Jesus' Name.....

Well, lets see what the Word says,

John 14:16-17
16 "I will ask the Father, and He will give you another Helper, that He may be with you forever;
17 that is the Spirit of truth, whom the world cannot receive, because it does not see Him or know Him, but you know Him because He abides with you and will be in you.

The Spirit of truth a helper whom the Father gave us at the request of Jesus.

John 15:26-27
26 "When the Helper comes, whom I will send to you from the Father, that is the Spirit of truth who proceeds from the Father, He will testify about Me,
27 and you will testify also, because you have been with Me from the beginning.

It it seems that his job is to testify of Jesus and help us to testify of Jesus. This helper is otherwise mentioned in the Bible as the Holy Ghost who lives in us at salvation. (John 14:26)

John 16:13-14
13 "But when He, the Spirit of truth, comes, He will guide you into all the truth; for He will not speak on His own initiative, but whatever He hears, He will speak; and He will disclose to you what is to come.
14 "He will glorify Me, for He will take of Mine and will disclose it to you.
15 "All things that the Father has are Mine; therefore I said that He takes of Mine and will disclose it to you.

It sounds like here that this Spirit will tell us of things to come, things that the Father wants us to know. It also says that he will give us everything that is the Father's at the request of Jesus. WOW! That sounds like the covenant relationship tha we have with the Father in the New Testament.
