Interesting, Charlotte isn't a royal name from what I can remember. I was expecting either Elizabeth, Victoria, Catherine, Mary or Ann. Granted Elizabeth is the name of the current queen.

I could be wrong, I should go and check how royal the name Charlotte is first I suppose.

We have the Queen Charlotte Islands on our west coast, named for thAt queen.

My husband heard that they used Charlotte, though, as the feminine of Charles, in honour of grandpa.

But it is definitely a name in the royal lineage as well.
