Glory Seed Guidelines

Notice – The ministries featured in this section of TheologyWeb are guests of this site and in some cases not bargaining for the rough and tumble world of debate forums, though sometimes they are. Additionally, this area is frequented and highlighted for guests who also very often are not acclimated to debate fora. As such, the rules of conduct here will be more strict than in the general forum. This will be something within the discretion of the Moderators and the Ministry Representative, but we simply ask that you conduct yourselves in a manner considerate of the fact that these ministries are our invited guests. You can always feel free to start a related thread in general forum without such extra restrictions. Thank you.

These daily devotionals are brought to you by Gary Piper, a writer with our Sister Site, Natural Spirit Ministries. TheologyWeb encourages you to visit and support their site.... they have many informative articles which can be discussed right here. If you enjoy Gary Piper's devotionals, please send him an encouraging note or post. We are very appreciative of our partnership with Natural Spirit Ministries and look forward to many more co-ventures.

Glory Seed Devotionals, 2015: Year of Promise
    Getting intimate with Jesus…

“The Lord cares for his nation, just as shepherds care for their flocks. He carries the lambs in his arms, while gently leading the mother sheep.” (Isaiah 40:11, CEV)

This morning’s Glory Seed comes from my Kindle EBook (Amazon.com) “Founder Tale of a Lost Sheep”.

"Most people," he started, "think sheep are one of the stupidest animals God ever put on the earth. But remember Josiah just because an animal depends upon someone else does not make it stupid. If that were the case we humans would also be stupid because we depend upon each other and upon God. Always remember, my son, a sheep is only as stupid or as smart as the shepherd they follow. Once I heard the Messiah compare himself to a shepherd and people as a sheep. To be a good shepherd you must make your flock more valuable than yourself. You must see your sheep as ultimate worth and you must give your life for them whether through sacrifice of time or death. Value is based on what you put in things not what you take out."

Zechariah bent down and held the first sheep, “Bend down and give each a hug and rub your hands through their wool like this." Zechariah said, as he probed his fingers deep into the wool of the first one.

"Father," young Josiah began, "I heard some men in the village laughing and talking about you loving your sheep so much that you give them hugs. Please don't ask me to hug them I don't want people laughing at me."

He could see the fear and disappointment in Josiah’s eyes and having experienced the same ridicule firsthand the older man tried unsuccessfully to hold back his tears. Zechariah looked his son in the eyes, "I too have heard them. But when you hug them your scent will mingle with theirs and the blending of the two scents creates a unique scent only the sheep knows. It's the way you become one to them and they will know they belong to you. You must never let what others say about you or to you to destroy your inner peace and confidence.”

We are the flock and Jesus is the Shepherd

“God loves you and has chosen you as his own special people. So be gentle, kind, humble, meek, and patient.” (Colossians 3:12, CEV)

    Believe! Anticipate! Experience! Be transformed!
    Grace and PEACE, Amen!
    Gary

The LORD gives strength to those who are weary… But those who trust the LORD will find new strength…” (Isaiah 40:29, 31 CEV)
