A misuse of James 1:5
http://www.theologyweb.com/campus/showthread.php?p=1319750#post1319750
I put this OP up in the LDS section, where I'm sure it will gather some dust, before someone finds it. So I thought I'd give those who don't venture over that way, a chance to comment in here. And to help some of the new members realize that we do have other forums."Ultimately I don't care what some theologian or some system taught, it's what God's Word says that matters... and rightly dividing it is the supreme challenge of life." I agree with you. As with everything in scripture, it must be divided with scripture (i.e. interpret scripture with scripture). James 1:5 can't possibly be the only prooftext for seeking the validity of something.

Good stuff GB. I've been taking on the Mormons for as long as I've been here and they do tend to not like others examining their faith practices too closely.
