2005 Platinum Screwball Nominations: Website Category
I was going to do one for indeterminate religion but I can't find enough sure candidates. That leaves the Website Award. Here are the nominees:
1) "Jesus-is-savior.com" for such lunacy as, "Spiderman is a Satanist":
http://www.jesus-is-savior.com/False...s_of_satan.htm
and the "noises from hell" story repeated:
http://www.jesus-is-savior.com/Basic..._from_hell.htm
2) http://www.justgivemethetruth.com/ -- Bible predicts UFO invasions!
3) http://www.wiolawapress.com/black.htm -- The Jesuits are giant lizards
4) http://www.onealclan.com/ -- More Bible UFO stuff
5) http://brotherofyeshua.com/challenge.htm -- I was Jesus' Brother in a Past Life!
6) http://www.venganza.org/ Church of the Flying Spaghetti Monster

Due to rampant stupidity by Skeptics, and time issues, I'm only going to be on TWeb in my own (tektonics.org) section from now on. Deal with it.

JP, this one is a spoof site, so it doesn't count IMHO.

If it has a serious intent even as a spoof, I would count it.

Ooooh, ok, like if it's a spoof that's trying to make a point but it's such a poor spoof that it's screwy (like a certain tekton parody
). Gotcha.

"Jesus-Is-Saviour" takes the cake... I've had a couple of their pages show up in Google searches... Very amusing.

It does have a serious point and its one that the vast majority of the pro-evolutionary community would support and frequently make. Seems to me that if you include the FSM, then you should also be including major evolution sites like Pandasthumb

These are pretty funny, but how does Landover Baptist Church not make the list? LBC blows all other Christianity parody sites out of the water as far as I'm concerned.

I have no idea. I'm just saying that, considering how well-known it is, I'm surprised it's not on the list. It just strikes me as weird.

The Landover one is old and was never funny IMO. The ones in this thread beat it to a bloody pulp and spit on its corpse.

Nominees usually have to do something outrageous in the specified time period (here, 2005). Landover's been around a while, hasn't it?

Yeah, I checked it out this morning, and it's...really more hateful than humorous.

And point taken. It doesn't look like they did anything outrageous in the past year, and I'm now left wondering if they ever did...
