  • Computer Maintenance Services

I need a recommendation for a good one that can work remotely (I imagine any can) to do routine maintenance on a computer (Windows). By routine I mean the really basic stuff like defraging and running registry cleaners et al. It's for a friend who has the patience of a gnat where working on a computer is concerned and can afford a good service - besides me running out there to run CC once in a while (yes, really).

Are you wanting a program to do scheduled runs?

That would do as well, but I'm thinking there needs to be a live people backing it up. She really won't do the maintenance - hasn't the patience with it to learn how, actually. And she'll need someone she can call to fix the hiccups as needed.

If the work is primarily for the computer and not the printer or monitor, someone could do clean up using a remote access program like Team Viewer. There may be a built in feature in Windows as well. She would just need someone to install Team Viewer

People still defrag their hard drives? What kind of stone age machines are you guys running?

              That's doable. Thanks!

Windows 7 and above will automatically defrag the drive. No need to run a defrag program unless you really screwed things up.

                  Yep, got that.

                  You know what I meant.

I can recommend a good one, but might be a bit of travel involved.
