Last year on my trip, I had the nice habit of mailing Mom a postcard from each city that I visited.

In my last postcard, which was from Paris, I told her how I hoped to come back someday to France and at least with her.

At one point, we considered taking a package that meant flying to the St. Exupéry Airport in Lyon, then taking a train to Dijon, but then we realized that that meant stopping in London's Heathrow and waiting 6 hours for the flight to Lyon.

Heathrow? Ouch. Been there, done that, got the stamp in my passport.
