Re: Shepherd's belated bonus point spam thread.
To be classified as old, you have to be at least 40.
Crab Battle
noun
Words uttered to incite an all in brawl. Whoever says the words 'Crab Battle' will usually be spear tackled to the ground by anyone else present, and all parties will then engage in a fight to the death.
Reality untouchable, transparent, invisible to our fixed, restricted fields of vision. Existence taken for granted, absolute. Possessed, owned, controlled by the common sense-infected rational gaze, onward forever we walk among the ignorant. Never stray from the common lines.

Re: Shepherd's belated bonus point spam thread.
Steam was having a pretty good sale. I now have Aquaria, Terraria, Recettear, the first two Deus Ex games, and both Longest Journey games.

Re: Shepherd's belated bonus point spam thread.
Aquaria is an adventure/exploration game in the vein of Metroid and most of the more recent Castlevania games(starting with Symphony of the Night). You explore environments, gain power-ups, some of which allow you to access previously inaccessible areas. Its controls are wonky, and having an actual mouse(rather than the trackpad than my laptop has) would help immensely, but it's still really neat.
Also, it has some of the most awesome music I've ever heard. The theme in the opening area alone is just amazing, and the other tunes I've gotten to hear a little of sound really good, too.

Re: Shepherd's belated bonus point spam thread.
Recettear is one of those quirky JRPGs with a twist that you'd expect to see from a company like Atlus or maybe Natsume. The stuff most larger companies won't touch with a 10-foot pole. It has a quirky sense of humor that's pretty nice, but it's nothing special. You run an item shop, pay of your father's debts(he mysteriously disappeared), and hire adventurers to explore the dungeons outside the town and get you stuff. The dungeon portions are nice -- fairly simple action RPG gameplay.

Re: Shepherd's belated bonus point spam thread.
Deus Ex games look like FPS games with some additional elements that remind me a little of Alpha Protocol, albeit with outdated graphics. Which I'm thankful for, actually, because I'm so sick of games that look like they'd be fun to play if only their graphics didn't slow my laptop to a crawl.

I have no idea what the Longest Journey games are about. They were super cheap, in the adventure genre section, and had pretty pictures.
