To invalidate a point is to show that it is wrong. To make a point is to show that it is right. Therefore, you cannot invalidate a point by making it because the two conditions are exclusive. Quanta was in essence saying A and not-A at the same time and in the same sense. It was actually a bit weirder than that, with it more like her saying A, therefore not-A.
