In an ideal, perfect world that worked, it really wouldn't be.

Yet, we do not live in an ideal perfect world because the people running it are not ideal and rather imperfect.

Take some examples; U.S.S.R., Romania under Ceascu (sp?), the current Venezuela under Chavez and the one that near and dear to my heart and history, Cuba under Castro.

Dude. If we cared about cliques, we wouldn't be here. We're all individuals, we just happened to be similar in our individuality and so we were drawn here and became friends.

And we aren't carbon copies, either. Telleriab is not a technophile or fangurl, for instance.

Just call me a bibliophile and francophile if you would like, but I cannot tell you the difference between a memory card and a memory stick, or if there is even a difference to begin with.

S-2 involves basic necessities and a wide variety of non-specific subjects with some discomfort.

Maybe I am selling myself short, but I would say this is the level where my conversation skills are.

I guess it depends on the subject and my level of comfort with the other person.

My pronunciation and intonation are quite good, so say native French speakers themselves.

You know Spanish diphthongs -- pronouncing 2 consecutive vowel sounds as a single syllable?

Don't forget that English has dipthongs as well. French doesn't.

I enforce my listening skills by watching French films. My most recent film is "The Visitors." A wacky but still interesting film.

It is about two men from the 12th century who time-travel to the 20th century. It was interesting to hear the variations of "old-school" French vocabulary, pronunciations and verb conjugations.

Although, honestly, if it weren't for the fact that the film is in French, I would have never opted to see it.
