Although maybe I have been de-sensitised to profanities on account of my being British.
      Crab Battle
      noun
Words uttered to incite an all in brawl. Whoever says the words 'Crab Battle' will usually be spear tackled to the ground by anyone else present, and all parties will then engage in a fight to the death.

Reality untouchable, transparent, invisible to our fixed, restricted fields of vision. Existence taken for granted, absolute. Possessed, owned, controlled by the common sense-infected rational gaze, onward forever we walk among the ignorant. Never stray from the common lines.

In my opinion, there is never any call for profanity. Ever. Even if you find a bear in your loft in the middle of the night.

I guess we'll have to invent a new word that conveys a greater level of surprise than simply: ARGH!

      I've got one:

In reality, if you find a bear in your home in the middle of the night, you should probably be very quiet to avoid spooking the bear. Also, you probably have home security issues that need looking after.

Have you ever put the lyrics to that song through Google Translate? Pretty awesome lyrics.

Re: Shepherd's belated bonus point spam thread.

Here's the (somewhat butchered, but still intelligible) translated lyrics:

      NEW MAN

      san. Timo Peltokangas

      Years reported
      many situations
      Found guilty
      all the evidence

I want to overthrow the old, forgotten
      Not that good company, however,
The storm is raging, I want to
Only one name can save us!

      Lift up your hands ...
      ... I want to release

      The chains remain,
if I look back over and over again
It is time to raise the head,
so I can see the creation of a new
The coffin is closed, the lid is nailed,
Today the grave of the old life
Then I spread my wings and I fly away,
I do not look back ever again,
      I never!

      Take off the old yltäni,
      I shall wear a new,
because I was redeemed in full

      I open my eyes, I forbid myself;
      Every day position ristini
Heart opens to release the truth
I was born again from above

Well, one of the history students at Chichester is a foreign exhange student from Finland, although when I asked him about Lumina Polaris, he said he thought they were from Sweden.

Well, I could print out some lyrics and give them to him and see if he recognises it as Finnish or not.
