If you look closely in the pic, her breastissizz appear to be sitting atop her pants waistband. Serves her right! Freak!

Re: "Why I Still Breastfeed My Eight-Year-Old Girl"
Several yrs ago, I had a job waiting tables at this really popular "alternative lifestyle" sort of restaraunt. One of the big attractions to the place was a kid's playroom. So we had an entire section of the restaraunt devoted to families with kids.
One afternoon, I came back from the kitchen with a trayfull of food for this nice hippy family of four. The kids were aged 5 and 7. You can imagine my suprise when I got to the table only to find the 7-yr old breastfeeding from his hippy mama! (we definitely had mothers who were breastfeeding their three-yr olds, but 7?!?!?). Very strange sight to behold. Of course, I had to pretend that it was perfectly normal--that it was something I'd seen all the time, because, I was their server, and that is my job (to make all the freakazoid patrons feel like they are the paragon of normalcy).
And yes, this hippy mama's special glands were resting on her knees when she sat down.
agHow can I understand God, when I haven't even achieved pure virtue?

Re: "Why I Still Breastfeed My Eight-Year-Old Girl"
I've heard all the arguments but I have to say that it seems like breast feeding to such an age is more about the mother's psychosis and her own wants rather than anything that is helpful for the child.

My most recent faith struggle is not one of intellect. I don't really do that anymore. Sooner or later you just figure out there are some guys who don't believe in God and they can prove He doesn't exist, and some other guys who can prove He does exist, and the argument stopped being about God a long time ago and now it's about who is smarter, and honestly, I don't care. ~ Don Miller Blue Like Jazz

Re: "Why I Still Breastfeed My Eight-Year-Old Girl"
Don't know if it rises to the level of psychosis, but it is almost certainly about the mother's needs rather than her daughter's. And, one has to suspect the need is more erotic than anything else.

Really? Erotic? How so? I was thinking more along the lines of narcisism or something like that.

From the article you linked to:
So what specifically about this case leads you to believe that it's erotic in this case?baby's suckling of nipple causes oxytocin to be released, but it doesn't normally create sexual feelings."Yes, I'm quite concerned about health care issues surrounding leaked radiation from Japan. Never said that it is erotic in this case, only that one has to suspect it--at least I do.

Also, note the qualifying bolding of "it doesn't normally create sexual feelings" in the piece, which recognize that "sexual feelings" ARE created in some women.
