Do you think that Peter wrote Jude?

No, I don't think that Peter wrote Jude. With the vast majority of modern scholars I believe that 2 Peter is dependent (in a literary sense) on Jude and that explains the similarities. Neither were written by the same author as 1 Peter (which I would describe as 'very Petrine' and would say that Peter himself probably is the authority behind, having told Silvanus to write the letter and what to include in it). I don't think common authorship of Jude and 2 Peter can really be sustained.

Is that so surprising, if the authors knew each other and shared similar views? Is it so surprising, if the authors represented a common view among the members of the true church?

Is the controversy over authorship not actually related to subject matter, rather than anything substantive? Surely scholarship would be far better employed tracking down the successors to these:

'These are the men who are hidden reefs in your love feasts when they feast with you without fear, caring for themselves; clouds without water, carried along by winds; autumn trees without fruit, doubly dead, uprooted; wild waves of the sea, casting up their own shame like foam; wandering stars, for whom the black darkness has been reserved forever.' Jude 12-13 NASB
