      Biblical Themes

I figured this would be the best forum for me to place this. I didn't want to put this in the Rec Room or the Lounge because I didn't want anything too puffy. I didn't want to put this in Theology either because I didn't want people with an agenda trying to steer my study.

So, I put this here in hopes of getting some really enlightened and well-thought out input.

This summer I will be reading through the Bible and I was wanting to find some suggestions for themes which I can keep in the back of my mind as I'm reading through.

I was thinking of reading the Bible keeping the theme of justice in mind, and the theme of Christ (specifically typologies and references to Christ and salvation in the Old Testament), and I was wondering if anyone else had some interesting ideas for me to keep in mind as themes throughout Scripture.

If that doesn't make sense lemme know and I'll try to restate it, but basically I want to see if I can find references to justice throughout Scripture that I haven't seen before. And I'm looking for suggestions for other themes to look for throughout Scripture.

      Thanks for your help,

      Daniel

Keep track of what happens to the prophets and OT heros at the hands of Israel.
Also think about whether Israel is putting their faith in God at the moment or not.

I don't care how systematic your theology is until you show me how biblical it is.

Covenant is one of the larger frames under which everything fits, so see how God makes covenants and works through his people (though often stubborn and rebellious) to see that it comes to fruition so He can bless all the nations.
