Seriously, I've always had a nack for laying down a tree just where I want to plop it.
I was just commenting on what I did not see in your picture, a guiding notch . . .

If it works for you that is good. And as I said a small tree like that is easy to drop pretty much where ever you want it to go.
Micah 6:8 He has told you, O man, what is good; and what does the LORD require of you but to do justice, and to love kindness, and to walk humbly with your God?

I used my $74 electric chain saw from Lowes, and cut a bird's mouth notch in the side of the tree toward the direction I wanted it to fall, then a cut across (and slightly above) the back of that, and she just slowly leaned... then a mighty crack and a WHUMP as she lay in the clearing.

There was a dead limb from another tree sticking out, and I calculated that the falling tree might possibly hit and knock that limb down, and it did, just as I had hoped.

The electric chain saw allows me to get really close to the ground, so I don't even have a protruding stump there anymore.

How'd you know it was a girl tree? Did she complain the whole way down that you never listen to her? That these pine cones make her look fat? That you need to take the garbage out? That the flag stand on her side needed to be tightened? That your chain was cold? That you never take her to nice places because her limbs were sagging?

I used to. But it was a MAJOR sacrifice for my son. I hated everything about it except being with him.

I don't cut down living trees. You think I'm some kind of tree murderer?

Bones had told Jim it was dead in the original series and you only just got around to burying it.

And cutting down a living tree only kills the trunk - the tree itself is still living. Haven't you ever heard of coppice or pollard, Mr Great Outdoorsman?
