Now, now, hold your ponies - I was simply a preliminary verdict that demands evidence.

Ooh, if that implies that my mom is a human being, and I am not, you must be a believer in evolution - that might disappoint a few of your fans, if they knew that.

Now is this charging Calvinist predestination with causing slavery? I do certainly object, you may be referring to the "curse of Canaan," which some did take to mean that black people were meant to be slaves, but that is not Calvinist predestination (not to mention this interpretation of the curse being untrue).

But I did appreciate reading about the prime Mormon prophecies, such a contrast with prophecies in Scripture which have details no one could guess. I have my little list of most remarkable prophecies, and none of the Joseph Smith prophecies are now falsifiable like these, nor it seems are Smith's prophecies so very readily falsifiable at all, given the turns in interpretation that seem to have been necessary to vindicate them...

      Lee

No, Lee....it's about how Calvinism was twisted and misused, actually.

Ok, let's try to turn things the other way around. Having read the evidence put forth in your OP, I have suddenly become convinced that Joseph Smith was a true prophet, and that the Book of Mormon is authentic, and that you, while you can see the evidence as well, simply are not open-minded and therefore reject the evidence. How will you convince me that I am wrong?

In this case, a Laubach course seems to be the first step. Then brain surgery.

That's where folks like me step in. I get to the internal stuff of Mormonism, like the utter lack of archaeology to verify any BOM site, event, person, or anything, or any host of other things. Just mozy over into the Mormonism area and give us a try on that one. I'll be glad to see what evidence you have that anything from the BOM actually happened.
