Deeper Waters Forum Guidelines
Notice – The ministries featured in this section of TheologyWeb are guests of this site and in some cases not bargaining for the rough and tumble world of debate forums, though sometimes they are. Additionally, this area is frequented and highlighted for guests who also very often are not acclimated to debate fora. As such, the rules of conduct here will be more strict than in the general forum. This will be something within the discretion of the Moderators and the Ministry Representative, but we simply ask that you conduct yourselves in a manner considerate of the fact that these ministries are our invited guests. You can always feel free to start a related thread in general forum without such extra restrictions. Thank you.
Deeper Waters is founded on the belief that the Christian community has long been in the shallow end of Christianity while there are treasures of the deep waiting to be discovered. Too many in the shallow end are not prepared when they go out beyond those waters and are quickly devoured by sharks. We wish to aid Christians to equip them to navigate the deeper waters of the ocean of truth and come up with treasure in the end.
We also wish to give special aid to those often neglected, that is, the disabled community. This is especially so since our founders are both on the autism spectrum and have a special desire to reach those on that spectrum. While they are a special emphasis, we seek to help others with any disability realize that God can use them and that they are as the Psalmist says, fearfully and wonderfully made.

Jaecp has a point about the patriarchy movement. Its attractive to narcissistic men who believe women should be at there beck and call. Not that atheists or other whackos don't have the same issue but Christian Patriarchy in all its glorious scandals (to name a few Jack Schaap, Bill Gothard, Michael Pearl's to train up a Child book which is something of a child abuse manual) Scandals at Bob Jones and Pensacola Christian as well as C.J. Mahaney's Crowd and Mars Hill are breeders for sex crimes and child abuse. I don't think Jaecp has anything to gloat about as there are PLENTY of examples of non-Christians who have ellicited Full sex rings and hidden abuse. They might not have a religion to hide behind, but they do try to hide behind perverted psychology.A happy family is but an earlier heaven.

“ [W]omen started telling me stories about sexism at skeptic events, experiences that made them uncomfortable enough to never return. At first, I wasn’t able to fully understand their feelings as I had never had a problem existing in male-dominated spaces. But after a few years of blogging, podcasting, and speaking at skeptics’ conferences, I began to get emails from strangers who detailed their sexual fantasies about me. I was occasionally grabbed and groped without consent at events.
I started checking out the social media profiles of the people sending me these messages, and learned that they were often adults who were active in the skeptic and atheist communities. They were reading the same blogs as I was and attending the same events. These were “my people,” and they were the worst.
What can be said? Like calls to like, perhaps?
Which has what to do with committing sex crimes exactly?1Cor 15:34 Come to your senses as you ought and stop sinning; for I say to your shame, there are some who know not God.

You guys have these grandiose moral claims so it's funny when people preaching, or in this case lobbying, end up being massive hypocrites."As for my people, children are their oppressors, and women rule over them. O my people, they which lead thee cause thee to err, and destroy the way of thy paths." Isaiah 3:12
There is no such thing as innocence, only degrees of guilt.

Now pardon me while I make a comically large "It has been X days since we've had a ridiculously ironic moral failure amongst Christian leadership" sign for my Sig :D
Edit: I do want to be serious for a second and agree that this wouldn't be as big a deal if not for the wagon circling that inevitably leads to further the appearance of hypocrisy.
DE,
Afaik, humanism is the common thing for atheists to latch onto.
Personally, I am quite content with my homebrew 3.5 knockoff of morality

OH!
Also, as it turns out, http://gizmodo.com/the-fembots-of-as...son-1726670394
There were only about 12,000 real women using the site, worldwide. And some article I saw floating around patheos is about the hundreds, possibly in the low thousands by the time everything shakes out, of US clergy types who have already announced they're retiring.
Ahh schadenfreude, what would I do without you?
edit: I DONT HAVE TO KNOW THE ANSWER TO THAT

I'm just going to quote the site I got that from because I can't write it better and I'm giggling too hard to think of something funny on my own
