  • I came across a quite hilarious and yet interesting ranking of the candidates today: By the grammar quality of their supporters.

A study went to each candidate's facebook page, and randomly selected posts by supporters of the candidate (making sure they were actually supporting the candidate, and not opposed to them) and then ran spelling & grammar-checking software over the posts. This gives some insight into the question of how educated the supporters of any given candidate are - or conversely tells us what candidates educated people are supporting.

Here are the results, giving the error-rates and vocabulary for supporters of each candidate:

"I hate him passionately", he's "a demonic force" - Tucker Carlson, in private, on Donald Trump
"Every line of serious work that I have written since 1936 has been written, directly or indirectly, against totalitarianism and for democratic socialism" - George Orwell
"[Capitalism] as it exists today is, in my opinion, the real source of evils. I am convinced there is only one way to eliminate these grave evils, namely through the establishment of a socialist economy" - Albert Einstein

    • The issue Hillary is flip-flopping on today: The TPP.

Hillary Clinton's flip-flop on the TPP makes no sense
Contrary to the article I'd say her flip-flop makes perfect sense. She's done the math and seen that: 1) Her support or lack of it won't affect whether the Republicans and Obama are going to pass TPP together. 2) Polling in the Democratic primary requires she be against it, especially coming up to the first debate in order to minimize any difference between her and Sanders on the issues.

        • I find it suspicious that all the five Democrat candidates rate better than every single one of the fourteen Republicans listed. That indicates something is biased in the original design or applications thereof.
Even worse is jumping from the 10th worst (= 10th best out of 19) with a squiggly to the very worst, Trump. This portrayal is designed to make Trump appear to be a weirdo "outlier", when perhaps the full listing of numbers 11 to 18 might show Trump supporters are only barely less literate than supporters of, say, Chris Christie or Bobbie Jindal.

Also strange is that the most "Republican" of the five Democrats come out as the top two for supporter literacy (maybe my letter to Webb helped in that regard). Chafee was a Republican until his recent announcement of candidacy, and Webb held two of the highest offices in the Defense Department during the Reagan years. So, does this mean that Carly Fiorina will necessarily become a Democrat sometime?

I found that part unsurprising. Various polls have long shown that more educated people tend to lean liberal/democrat.

Listing them all out strikes me as unnecessarily long and boring.

              Okay, sure.

I think that what's helping them a lot is lack of popularity. As a person becomes more popular, their score will move towards the average. Imagine a candidate that was 100% popular: Their supporters would on average have a grammar ability that was exactly the average of the population. So a lot of the more popular candidates will have a more diverse base of supporters, and do more average because of it. Whereas if a candidate has 10 supporters, who are all really highly educated, they are going to show up at the top of the list (eg Chafee - I recall one of the polling agencies commenting that no one had ever voted for Chafee in a single one of their polls).

On the democrat side, Hillary's probably being hit hard with that effect. Bernie Sanders, though popular, is known to have a highly skewed demographic currently supporting him (a lot of white educated people, very few blacks), and this poll demonstrates that. Similar on the Republican side, Trump has the most support and so ought to be skewed towards the national average because of that, but in fact he's doing the worst, which suggests he has a very non-diverse base of support that comprises many of the most uneducated people in the country. That agrees with other polls I've seen that found Trump supporters were by and large the dumbest of the dumb in general.

                • Gotta have someone running for Obama's third term, now that Hillary is challenging Bernie Sanders for the Progressive vote by opposing TPP and the Iran Nuclear Deal. Biden is perceived as Obama's man, and now he's the only heir-apparent. Sanders and Clinton both stand now for something farther Left.
(Meanwhile, back at the ranch, on the Right side of Obama, Jim Webb is my candidate for Dem nominee and POTUS and Commander-in-Chief 2017-2025. I would vote for Warren if she ran, but Bernie is too old (as is Biden) and Hillary is a Wall Street shill regardless of FINALLY now talking up Progressive positions.)

                  • More support is abandoning Hillary....

DENVER -- A Denver-based philanthropist who in May was appointed to the board of the pro-Hillary Clinton PAC Correct the Record has stepped down from the position and donated to the campaign to draft vice president Joe Biden into the race, POLITICO has learned.

LGBT rights activist Scott Miller and his husband, mega-donor Tim Gill, each gave $25,000 to Ready for Hillary last year and have supported her candidacy and the coordinating rapid response PAC.

But the couple, who over the years have given millions to progressive candidates and causes, are close to Biden and his potential entry into the race has changed the calculus for them -- together they have now donated $50,000 to the Draft Biden campaign as well.

Are you citing a Trump website? Hence they themselves could not spell "dictator"?
Anybody who tries your purported website (or are you just kidding us?) may find that the "Dicatator" portion won't work. Or are you playing on "Tricky Dic.... Nixon"?
I didn't dare try to enter the website address (and is it "com" "org" or "ISS"?) for fear my computer would be seized for ISIL propaganda and I would wind up doing 30 years. (Hey, good luck, I'm 73 already)

No that was my own spelling mistake in my parody hashtag, my bad. Although it does play into the parody well.

I'm just kidding you, though that's what various people on the extremes of the right actually think. And a hashtag is not a website, it's a twitter thing used as an index to cross-reference other people talking about the same subject.

Of course "educated" does not necessarily mean smart and informed. It just means that someone has spent more time in the left-leaning education system. In other words, the more time someone spends being subjected to liberal indoctrination, the more likely they are to be Democrat. Not exactly an earth-shattering revelation, is it?

But then the 2012 election results show that Obama carried 64% of the highschool dropout vote whereas Obama and Romney were pretty much even among college students and graduates with Obama taking a slight edge in postgraduate students.

                              By Alana Wise

(Reuters) - Just days before she will take the stage in the first Democratic debate, Hillary Clinton's lead over rival Bernie Sanders has narrowed, according to a Reuters/Ipsos poll.

Clinton's support among Democratic voters fell 10 points within less than a week.

From October 4 to October 9, Clinton saw her support tumble from 51 percent of Democratic support to just 41 percent.
