Glory Seed Guidelines

Notice – The ministries featured in this section of TheologyWeb are guests of this site and in some cases not bargaining for the rough and tumble world of debate forums, though sometimes they are. Additionally, this area is frequented and highlighted for guests who also very often are not acclimated to debate fora. As such, the rules of conduct here will be more strict than in the general forum. This will be something within the discretion of the Moderators and the Ministry Representative, but we simply ask that you conduct yourselves in a manner considerate of the fact that these ministries are our invited guests. You can always feel free to start a related thread in general forum without such extra restrictions. Thank you.

These daily devotionals are brought to you by Gary Piper, a writer with our Sister Site, Natural Spirit Ministries. TheologyWeb encourages you to visit and support their site.... they have many informative articles which can be discussed right here. If you enjoy Gary Piper's devotionals, please send him an encouraging note or post. We are very appreciative of our partnership with Natural Spirit Ministries and look forward to many more co-ventures.

Glory Seed Devotionals, 2015: Year of Promise
The worse is yet to come???

This morning upon waking up I found myself immediately thinking about faith. I am convinced having faith in and trusting in God is not an option but MUST have. As I was going about my early morning DNA (daily normal activities) I began thinking of faith as “thinking the worse is yet to come yet at the same time we put a heartfelt smile on our face and walk into the unknown with the assurance that the Holy Spirit is cutting a pathway a few steps ahead of us.”

I thought long and hard about “thinking the worse is yet to come” and couldn’t “buy into it” at first after all aren’t we suppose to think positive thoughts but the concept would not go away? But in spite of how hard I tried to shake it off the storms don’t go away. The reality of the “worse yet to come” is summed by Jesus this way, “I have said these things to you so that in me you may have peace. IN THE WORLD YOU HAVE AFFLICTION, but have courage! I have conquered the world.” (John 16:33, LEB)

“In the world you HAVE affliction,” as far as I am concerned there are no if-ands-or-buts about the validity of what Jesus was predicting for our lives. However, he also SAID, “I give you peace, the kind of peace that only I can give. It isn’t like the peace that this world can give. So don’t be worried or afraid.” (John 14:27, CEV) Therefore in the face of afflictions Jesus was also predicted and promised we would experience HIS PEACE, and HIS COURAGE!

In his conversation with Lazarus’ sister Jesus asked her the following question to her, it is the same question he confronts us with each day of our life, “DO YOU BELIEVE IN ME?”

The worse may be yet come but as we go through it, it will be no match for Jesus! Do you believe that?

    Believe! Anticipate! Experience! Be transformed!
    Grace and PEACE, Amen!
    Gary

Amen Gary!! I wish you knew how helpful your words are to me (and others I'm sure).
3 For I delivered to you as of first importance what I also received: that Christ died for our sins in accordance with the Scriptures, 4 that he was buried, that he was raised on the third day in accordance with the Scriptures --1 Corinthians 15:3-4 (borrowed with gratitude from 37818's sig)
