Mercy Ban
I deserve to be banned.
I am a pitiful armchair theologian.
It is said that confession is good for the soul, and in this case I think it will be good for the site.
I used to have a life, but now I am filled with self loathing...let me explain;
It started in another theology forum some years ago, after I had lost favour with those of my 'old aquaintance' and gone to the boards for solace and meaning. At first, I was overwhelmed by the cleverness and spirituality of the members. I would go and drink from the fountain of the learned, and bathe in the wonder of their wisdom.
Soon however, I grew weary of labouring under the feelings of inadequacy that dogged me after each encounter with these most blessed minds. It wasn't enough to learn from the wise, and I yearned to teach instead.
I devised a means by which my own self esteem would prosper, and that I would find acceptance in the fellowship of these most noble peers.
Oh, wretched fraud that I am...
I began by modifying certain theological documents (yet keeping their substance), and presenting them as my own work. In this manner, I was able to enter into the upper eshallons of theological academia, and gain a name for myself within the site in question. (And subsequently many others).
Ah, the shame of my disgrace...
Things went on in this vein for quite some time, and the euphoria of my new found esteem was like a drug, the power of which could not be abated by any other means than continuation. Armed with the countless tools of the true plagiarist, I began to relish debate, and relished the adulation that came with my victories. (And come they did.)
At the height of my career, at one point, I was both the Calvanist and Arminianist, trading mighty blows between two seperate adopted identities. My gladatorial skills in the bowels of cyberchristendom were legendary. I lived to hear the praise of my peers, and fear of me grew through the rank and file of upcoming contenders.
Dear oh dear...oh woe of woes...if man's wisdom is foolishness to God, whatever is He to think of my stupidity?
The matter came to a head at the very peak of my success. I had it all. I was revered, most honoured, and repected in every subsequent site that I graced. I resorted to dishonnest means to achieve the kill, toying with my opponents, destroying not only their arguments, but assassinating their characters as well. It was no longer enough to decimate every point of argument, I needed to destroy their faith as well.
Oh, how sharp the serpent's tooth. If the wounds of a friend are faithful, then what were the malevlent gashes I imposed on those poor souls who dared face me in honourable gladatorial fashion?
Wretched, wretched man that I am. Ahh, the flurry of the magicians hand.
My underhanded methods were beautifully disguised under the veneers of a counterfeit spirituality, and even the discerning were at pains to locate the seam of my devices.
I have said enough. The story of my capture and subsequent disclosure are yet too painfull to recount. The shame of exposure and ridicule do yet torment me...alas, pride has all but swallowed me.
As I have said...I deserve to be banned! Show me no mercy, as I showed none to those that now litter long dead sites across the web.
Deal the blow dear listener, my misery is equal to it.Most Bountiful Troll Hunter

Endless scorn. This is what I've come to expect.
I am a miserable failure...I can't even spam!!!
Why am I drawn to the mockery of my tormentors?
And now I'm off for a hearty breakfast. (There's no sense in starving myself)Last edited by Edge; August 25th 2006 at 05:16 AM.

What's wrong with "Sophomore?" Maybe that's how he feels?
