      The Iliad. Because it's one of the best books ever written. Not to have read Homer is not to have lived.

      And, "The Sinfulness of Sin" (a Puritan Paperback) by Ralph Venning (d. 1674), which is utterly superb - it's a real eye-opener. It's a good read - odd as that may sound.

      How to Read the Bible for All it's Worth by Gordon Fee and Douglas Stuart. Need to refresh after reading Misreading Scripture through Western Eyes, those two together can revolutionize the way you see scripture!
