Why contacting the dead and summoning astral beings ect. is dangerous

It is a common practice in the occult to contact the dead. Various means are employed. Examples of this are seances, Ouija boards, dowsing rods, automatic writing, sometimes tarot cards are employed, and perhaps other methods. Others summon entities to do their bidding. I believe that these practices are extraordinarily dangerous.

First, it is extremely rare to actually interact with a human soul which has died. The dead generally go to one of two places when they die. They go to Jesus or they go to the place of waiting for the final judgement for the condemned. They likely have no way of contacting anyone. There are three beings that you can come into contact with normally. First is God and this happens through prayer, God's direct speaking to you, dreams, or visions and perhaps other methods. These contacts with God will always match the Bible in substance. God doesn't contradict Him self. The Bible teaches us that one of the tests of a being is if they will confess that Christ has come in the flesh. The next beings you could come into contact with is God's angels. If you actually were able to contact an angel at will you would be reinventing the wheel more or less. God's angels will simply point you back to Jesus and away from themselves. You could have saved your self allot of time by just praying. The other beings you might come into contact with and I believe is the most likely being you will come into contact with through occult methods are the fallen angels. They are also known as demons. The Bible tells us that Satan is a liar and a murderer, and that he goes to and fro seeking to devour us. I believe that if you run into demons they will do as much damage to you as they can.

Now, the next issue is the summoning of beings to do your bidding. Trying this with God is silly on the face of it and in the essence of it. God is the one who has people and angels do His bidding never the other way around. God's angels do exactly one being's bidding and never otherwise. They do God's bidding. You would be wasting your time trying to summon them to do your bidding. The last group are the demons. Angels both good and evil are ancient, far more intelligent and experienced then us, and far more powerful. If you attempt to summon a being to do your bidding it is very likely that if you succeed you will be in contact with a demon. The demon may allow you to think he'll do your bidding when in the end you will do his and become a slave to evil. The ancient beings are far more powerful than you. Never forget that. Standing in a pentacle will not help you. The demon may simply mock you and laugh and then proceed to tear you apart as much as he can. The ancient beings do not fear shapes drawn on the floor. They are not afraid of you projecting a field of protection with your mind or ritual. They are far more intelligent and experienced than you and can easily take advantage of any mistake or flaw in your majick. You are fallible and very limited in your power and knowledge and so they are very likely to find a flaw. I personally don't believe ritual or thought will protect you at all.

Looking at the original date of this thread, I'm not sure my response will be read. This is solid advice. To understand how dangerous involvement in the occult is you have to understand what the spirit realm is. The best way to do this is by reading the Bible and having fellowship with God through Jesus. I have known people who have practiced spells from grimoires, meditation that brings on the choynid state as well as the release of 'serpent energy' from their spinal colum and these practices have brought insanity, broken relationships, profound personality changes (for the worse) and health problems that baffle their doctors. Its tempting to think that you can evoke or invoke an entity or 'intelligent energy' to help you get what you want. God knows us better than we know ourselves, loves us and can see any situation from every possible angle there can be. Who then, is more qualified to guide us and tell us what is best for us?

Though, one would hope that you would recognize as most witches do (though I understand you are a wiccan as opposed to traditional pagan) Magick isn't something to be taken lightly. Within Occult circles, Communicating with Spirit Beings Is simply acknowledging that which exists. While Fundamentalist Christianity is a DUALITY obsessed religion, they always consider spirits to be only evil. the truth is that spirits are just like you or I. and No Occultist in his right mind would trust a spirit being completely.

This is not true. Christians believe that angels are spirit creatures that are either fallen, or serve their Creator. The fallen ones are obviously evil, because they seek to obsure or lead people away from the Kingdom of God. They don't care what religion or occult practice that your into, as long as you don't trust in the Person and Work of Christ. But we believe that there are still good " spirits " that serve God.

Btw, there is no " fundamentalist " christianity. Only people that serve God the Father and the Lord Jesus Christ.
