Glory Seed Guidelines

Notice – The ministries featured in this section of TheologyWeb are guests of this site and in some cases not bargaining for the rough and tumble world of debate forums, though sometimes they are. Additionally, this area is frequented and highlighted for guests who also very often are not acclimated to debate fora. As such, the rules of conduct here will be more strict than in the general forum. This will be something within the discretion of the Moderators and the Ministry Representative, but we simply ask that you conduct yourselves in a manner considerate of the fact that these ministries are our invited guests. You can always feel free to start a related thread in general forum without such extra restrictions. Thank you.

These daily devotionals are brought to you by Gary Piper, a writer with our Sister Site, Natural Spirit Ministries. TheologyWeb encourages you to visit and support their site.... they have many informative articles which can be discussed right here. If you enjoy Gary Piper's devotionals, please send him an encouraging note or post. We are very appreciative of our partnership with Natural Spirit Ministries and look forward to many more co-ventures.

Glory Seed Devotionals, 2015: Year of Promise
    A look back down…

The words of the song “The Road to Zion” remind us that, “Sometimes it’s good to look back down, we’ve come so far we’ve gained such ground, but joy is not in where we’ve been joy is what’s waiting at the end.” This morning I found myself “looking back down” as I read the prophecy of Haggai given to the governor of Judah and the High Priest.

“…that the LORD All-Powerful had said to them and to the people: You say this isn’t the right time to build a temple for me. But is it right for you to live in expensive houses, while my temple is a pile of ruins? Just look at what’s happening. You harvest less than you plant, you never have enough to eat or drink, your clothes don’t keep you warm, and your wages are stored in bags full of holes.” (Haggai 1:2–6)

All God really wants from us is to live life His way not our way. Remember the song “I Did it My Way” made famous by Frank Sinatra? I can’t help but wonder if whoever wrote it had firsthand experience with Haggai’s prophecy. I know I lived life my way and when I did my life turned out just the way Haggai said it would. Unfortunately there are times when I still make an attempt at it but out of His love for me God sees to it each attempt is unsuccessful. Here’s how we can sum it up…

This is living life your way… “You harvest less than you plant… (Haggai 1:6)”
This is living life God’s way… “But a few seeds did fall on good ground where the plants grew and produced thirty or sixty or even a hundred times as much as was scattered.” (Mark 4:8, CEV)

    Any questions?

    Believe! Anticipate! Experience! Be transformed!
    Celebrate!

    Grace and PEACE, Amen!
    Gary
