Re: Getting a New Computer
I heard Macs are the best computers all around, and now you can buy a program that can run windows on mac allowing you to play all your favorite games with the saftey and speed of a mac. You might want to check into it though. If you can afford it go with mac for the fact pc's tend to get slower over time and theres a million viruses for them. But for price Dell would be cheaper than building your own, although i dont know if they have awesome gaming packages.

Dell already is cheaper than building it on your own, so I'd say that the extra 15% just makes it unbelievable.

While I love Macs, it's for their software, not their hardware. I do not know why anyone would buy a Mac only to run Windows on it.

Virtual PC for Mac is an amazing bit of software if you are looking to run specific apps. For instance, I use to run software written for the PC that is specific to my church.

However, remember, when you run Virtual PC on a Mac you're actually running two complete operating systems on your computer at the same time. If you buy a new Mac, you will want to get Parallels instead. VPC has been discontinued and Parallels will run a lot faster on the Intel chips.

Re: Getting a New Computer
you should only build for yourself for the sake of building your own rig. as others ahve said, it's not worth it if you are just looking at pricing.
