Glory Seed Guidelines

Notice – The ministries featured in this section of TheologyWeb are guests of this site and in some cases not bargaining for the rough and tumble world of debate forums, though sometimes they are. Additionally, this area is frequented and highlighted for guests who also very often are not acclimated to debate fora. As such, the rules of conduct here will be more strict than in the general forum. This will be something within the discretion of the Moderators and the Ministry Representative, but we simply ask that you conduct yourselves in a manner considerate of the fact that these ministries are our invited guests. You can always feel free to start a related thread in general forum without such extra restrictions. Thank you.

These daily devotionals are brought to you by Gary Piper, a writer with our Sister Site, Natural Spirit Ministries. TheologyWeb encourages you to visit and support their site.... they have many informative articles which can be discussed right here. If you enjoy Gary Piper's devotionals, please send him an encouraging note or post. We are very appreciative of our partnership with Natural Spirit Ministries and look forward to many more co-ventures.

Glory Seed Devotionals, 2015: Year of Promise
Building sanctuary for the LORD and YOU…

When life got difficult and overwhelming King David knew what to do and where he needed to be. King David knew he needed to be alone with his LORD! You don’t need to be King David for life to be overwhelming but you can do as he did. “LORD, remember David and all that he suffered. He made a solemn promise to the LORD. He vowed to the Mighty One of Israel, “I will not go home; I will not let myself rest. I will not let my eyes sleep nor close my eyelids in slumber until I find a place to build a house for the LORD, a sanctuary for the Mighty One of Israel.”” (Psalm 132:1–5, NLT)

Rebecca Van Noord in Connect the Testaments writes. “When life is difficult, we often take refuge in knowing there’s a life to come—one in which we’ll be free from pain and the worries of this world. The thought brings us comfort. During the difficult times, the life to come might even be more appealing than the present.”**

Like King David YOU need to find a place to build a house for the LORD, a sanctuary where you and God can build and strengthen a relationship. Because the Psalmist refers to building a sanctuary you may be asking, “What is it I need to build?” but remember God told King David he’d never build the temple. This may sound strange but the “place” we need to “build a house, a sanctuary” is our hearts and the truth is we shouldn’t build it at all we need only provide the place and let God do the building because, “Unless the LORD builds a house, the work of the builders is wasted…” (Psalm 127:1, NLT)

The church I attend has a beautiful sanctuary but I’ve been alone with the LORD sitting at the food court of the Birchwood Mall, in our local park, at the St. Clair River, in my chair at home, or visiting an old church in Cades Cove. Wherever you and the LORD, in your heart build sanctuary it not only needs to be a place of worship but a place where you can and do experience HOPE as well. Rebecca Van Noord puts what take place in your heart this way, “When we long for relief, we might be yearning for a renewed sense of God’s presence among us. We long for His presence because it is free from difficulty and filled with His incredible love.”**

    Believe! Anticipate! Experience! Be transformed!
    Celebrate!

    Grace and PEACE, Amen!
    Gary
