STICKIE: Bill The Cat's heresies for the Christian Soul
This thread is Moderator only participation. The purpose is to lay bare some of the unorthodox views taught in pop culture Christianity, such as radio and television.
This is not a thread to debate divergent but otherwise orthodox views of the topics involved. Posts fostering such debate will be deleted.
Each post must encompass a quote from a popular figure in Christianity and citation that is as complete as possible (i.e. quotes from TV shows et al must include the name of the program, date and time aired, or other bibliographic information as appropriate if a link is not available). Faramir and Bill the Cat will be the moderators for this thread.
Additionally, if you are not a mod and have a quote that meets the criteria, please post it in the commentary thread for inclusion in this one.
An additional commentary thread will be available and be open to Christian participation here: http://www.theologyweb.com/campus/sh...ad.php?t=86669Last edited by Bill the Cat; November 6th 2006 at 04:30 PM.

Creflo Dollar
“ That was God in that body, we always think of that with the last Adam but we never say that with the first Adam. It was God. God took a reflection of Himself and put it in a physical body formed out of the dust and gave him authority of all physical things on the planet. So that like He was God in heaven, now He’s made Adam God of the earth. Adam has been crowned God of all physical things from the dust of the earth including the moon the stars and the planets. I’m going to show you all thin in Scripture but just follow me now… I’m just askin’ you to trust me for a minute until I open the Bible”.
“Mars and Venus and Jupiter, all of the handiwork of God was now placed in the authority of the God of the earth. And here’s what He told him. He said I want you to guard it and keep out all intruders. Now that gives us a little insight on why When God made Adam all he did was make an exact imprint of hisself. He duplicated himself, he was the image and from his image came hisself…”
“Everything that God has made. He has given man authority over His handiwork. [speaking in tongues] even the moon.” “I believe with all my heart that those planets out there are just a bunch of unfinished work that God was designing for man to finish as they entered into God training 101. Now, let’s get back to scripture”

Jesse Duplantis
I have met and/or spoken to Jesus
"Jesus was taller than I thought He would be. I would guess Him to be from five feet eleven inches to six feet one inch. I thought at first His hair was white, but when He turned His head, I caught a glance and saw that it was light brown. When He looked at me, the glory of God was emanating from Him. I said, "Jesus!" He said simply, "Do you like this place?" I said, "Yes, Sir"

Joyce Meyer
“And you’ve got to really glean some things out of the Word of God to really get hold of what He [Jesus] did for you during those three days.”
“Jesus said, ‘It is finished.’ And He meant the Old Covenant. The job He had to do was just getting started. He really did the job the three days and nights that He was in hell. That’s where the job was done”
“He was pronounced guilty on the cross but He paid the price in hell.”
“All the hosts of hell was [sic] upon Him. Upon Him. They got on Him. They got Him down in the floor and got on Him. And they were laughing and mocking.”
“Sunday morning, here comes the Son. Sunday morning, God gets Himself together. Ho, hoooo. Justice has been met, somehow the thing’s been taken care of. And ol’ God gets His voice together and He hollers out three words and they go roaring through the universe and entering the gates of hell. He said, ‘It is enough! It is enough!”

T.D. Jakes
“I think it's very, very significant that we first of all study the Trinity apart from salvation, and first of all that we embrace Christ and come to him to know who he is. Having come to know who he is, then we begin to deal with the Trinity, which I believe is a very complex issue. The Trinity, the term 'Trinity,' is not a biblical term, to begin with.
It's a theological description for something that is so beyond human comprehension that I'm not sure that we can totally hold God to a numerical system. The Lord said, "Behold, O Israel, the Lord thy God is one, and beside him there is no other." When God got ready to make a man that looked like him, he didn't make three. He made one man. However, that one man had three parts. He was body, soul, and spirit. We have one God, but he is Father in creation, Son in redemption, and Holy Spirit in regeneration.

Rod Parsley
"Where there is doubt concerning the will of God, faith very simply cannot exist. I use to pray these words, 'If it be thy will for healing,' before I read and believed God's word. Since I was a good Christian boy, I would get on my knee's like many of you and I'd pray, 'Oh God!' I thought for many years that God's first name was oh. 'Oh God, if it's your will heal this person.' Do you know what my doubt filled prayers produced? Seven members of my immediate family died within 18 months. I practically grew up in a funeral home listening to preacher after preacher explain how it was God's will that another flower was picked for the bouquet in heaven...Let's settle the matter once and for all, God doesn't want you sick."

Kenneth Copeland
Adam committed high treason; and at that point, all the dominion and authority God had given to him was handed over to Satan. Suddenly, God was on the outside looking in…After Adam’s fall, God found Himself in a peculiar position…God needed an avenue back into the earth…God laid out His proposition and Abram accepted it. It gave God access to the earth and gave man access to God..Technically, if God ever broke the Covenant, He would have to destroy Himself."
Kenneth Copeland, Our Covenant with God Fort Worth, TX: KCP Publications, 1987 pp 8-11
"I was shocked when I found out who the biggest failure in the Bible actually is…The biggest one in the whole Bible is God…Now, the reason you don’t think of God as a failure is He never said He’s a failure. And you’re not a failure till you say you’re one."
Kenneth Copeland, Praise-a-Thon program on TBN April 1988.

More Kenneth Copeland
"It wasn't a physical death on the cross that paid the price for sin...anybody can do that."
(What Satan Saw on the Day of Pentecost, audiotape #BCC-19, side 1)
"Every prophet that walked the face of the earth under the Abrahamic covenant could have paid the price if it were a physical death only. When He said 'It is finished' on that cross, He was not speaking of the plan of redemption. The plan of redemption had just begun; there were still three days and three nights to be gone through."
(What Happened from the Cross to the Throne, 1990, audiotape #02-0017, side 2)
"The Spirit of God spoke to me and He said, "Son, realize this. Now follow me in this and don't let your tradition trip you up." He said, "Think this way -- a twice-born man whipped Satan in his own domain." And I threw my Bible down... like that. I said, "What?" He said, "A born-again man defeated Satan, the firstborn of many brethren defeated him." He said, "You are the very image, the very copy of that one." I said, "Goodness, gracious sakes alive!" And I began to see what had gone on in there, and I said, "Well now you don't mean, you couldn't dare mean, that I could have done the same thing?" He said, "Oh yeah, if you'd had the knowledge of the Word of God that He did, you could have done the same thing, 'cause you're a reborn man too."

Creflo Dollar Says - "If Jesus came as God, then why did God have to anoint him? If Jesus - See God’s already anointed. If Jesus came as God, then why did God have to anoint him? Jesus came as a man, that’s why it was legal to anoint Him. God doesn’t need anointing. He is anointed. Jesus came as a man and at age thirty, God is now getting ready to demonstrate to us and give us an example of what a man with the anointing can do."

(Creflo Dollar, "Jesus' Growth into Sonship," December 8, 15, 2002, Product Number: 3422093, 3132094)
Creflo Dollar Says - "But Jesus didn’t show up perfect. He grew into His perfection. You know Jesus - one scripture in the bible - he went on a journey, he was tired. You better hope God don’t get tired. Isaiah 50 says, 50, 60, somewheres says where we have a God who fainteth not, neither is wearied? But Jesus did. If He came as God and he got tired; He says he sat down by the well because he was tired. Boy we’re in trouble."

Creflo Dollar Says - "And somebody said, well, Jesus came as God! Well, how many of you know the Bible says God never sleeps nor slumbers? And yet in the book of Mark we see Jesus asleep in the back of the boat. Please listen to me. Please listen to me. This ain’t no heresy. I’m not some false prophet. I’m just reading this thing out to you of the Bible. I’m just telling you, you all these fantasy preacher have been preaching all of this stuff for all of these years and we bought the package!"
(Creflo Dollar, "Jesus' Growth into Sonship," December 8, 15, 2002, Product Number: 3422093, 3132094)
Creflo Dollar Says - "Somebody said, 'Well, Jesus knew all things.' Well, what happened to that fig tree situation? Seeing a fig tree far off, He saw leaves on the fig tree and thought if happily He might come to that fig tree and eat of that fig tree. But when He got there He saw that there were no figs on that tree. Well, wait a minute! Ha, ha, we better, we better hope God knows when figs are on a tree! [Amen's and laughs] But Jesus didn't come as God! He came as a man! Because, if Jesus came as God He would have known figs were on a fig tree without having to see the leaves on the fig tree!"

The death of Jesus on the Cross did not pay the price for sins.
“It wasn’t the physical death on the cross that paid the price for sin ... anybody could do that.” (What Satan Saw on the Day of Pentecost)
“Every prophet that walked the face of the earth under the Abrahamic covenant could have paid the price if it were a physical death only” “When He said ‘It is finished’ on that cross, He was not speaking of the plan of redemption. The plan of redemption had just begun; there were still three days and three nights to be gone through.” “[Jesus] accepted the sin nature of Satan in His own Spirit, and at the moment that He did so, He cried ‘My God, my God, why have you forsaken me?’.” “He [Jesus] was down in that pit and there he suffered the punishment for three horrible days and nights for Adam’s treason ... There is a new birth takes place in the very depths of the earth, when the command of God says ‘That’s enough, loose him and let him go’.” (What Happened from the Cross to the Throne)

" ... how can you glorify God in your body, when it doesn't function right? How can you glorify God? How can He get glory when your body doesn't even work? ... What makes you think the Holy Ghost wants to live inside a body where He can't see out through the windows and He can't hear with the ears? What makes you think the Holy Spirit wants to live inside of a physical body where the limbs and the organs and the cells do not function right? ... And what makes you think He wants to live in a temple where He can't see out of the eyes, and He can't walk with the feet, and He can't move with the hand? ... The only eyes that he has that are in the earth realm are the eyes that are in the body. If He
can't see out of them then God's gonna be limited ..."

Paul Crouch
"I have spoken and written to you many times about the Word of God that came to me as I sought Him on this issue. My question was simple —"Dear Lord, can we bring a gift to you, with a need in our life, fully expecting you to meet that need?'
God answered me with a word into my spirit as clearly as I have ever heart it — He said: 'Son, Did I give my only son to die on the Cross, EXPECTING NOTHING IN RETURN?'
Ah, don't you see it. God had a need — He had lost His first son, Adam. He needed sons and daughters. So what did God do? He GAVE the very thing He needed — His only begotten Son, the best gift heaven could give! What did God receive? Yes, we know — billions of sons and daughters! God lives by His own law — you GIVE if you expect to RECEIVE!
"Dear Father, I could give you story after story from Jeptha, King Hezekiah, Samuel, even Jesus Himself who said, "If you give, you will get"
"So why do the heretic hunters and other critics trash the 'seed faith' message? I'll tell you why — and here is the bottom-line for this whole letter. They are either ignorant of the Word, or bound by their traditions, OR — and this is frightening — some are, I believe, of their father the devil! "Strong words, Paul" — yes, but here is Satan's most cherished strategy. He knows that if he can keep this great truth on giving and receiving, sowing and reaping, seed faith, and taking the wealth of the world — HE HAS WON!"
