JP Holding refutation thread
This thread I am starting for everyone who has refuted an argument that Jp Holding has presented either on here or arguments in his articles. You all know the sign that you have done so such as the flinging of insults rather than actual arguments ended by the phrase "I will not respond any futher to anything you post on the matter" or something to that effect.
my post was a response to the claims made in this article by JPee: http://www.tektonics.org/qt/singert01.html
The link to the thread is found at: http://www.theologyweb.com/campus/sh...ad.php?t=87346
I think that you all can read for yourselves since the thread is pretty short. So just post the link and if the thread is too long post the post that refutes JPee's arguments.

POWELL:
I've debated JP Holding quite a bit and have fancied that I have refuted him on a number of occasions, but if the sign that JP Holding is refuted is his subsequent insulting of his opponent then, apparently, I don't have any refutations to contribute to this thread.

Re: JPee Holding refutation thread
You can always tell when you've got JP on the ropes, he starts stammering:
"...but I've got brilliant, peer reviewed, 'certified', Christian scholars who agree with me!"
Or he links you to a Glenn Miller article...
Who I guess must be a 'brilliant, peer reviewed, 'certified', Christian scholar'!

I like JP, I think he's smart enough to realize what the bible really is, but he's in too deep, in his chosen profession, to admit it.
I think if he ever came out of the skeptic closet, he could write a wonderful and colorful book about his years as an internet apologist. I'm sure it would be a much more interesting page turner than Barker's or DJ's.

Wow, my first post here at TWeb fits this description to a T!
Fortunately, a lot of the discussion here happens at a higher level of discourse, logic, and respect.

I always understood Micah 5:2 to be a Messianic prophecy refering to a future resurrection of King David to be King in the world to come.
Examine the following.........
Jeremiah 30:7-9 (King James Version)
7Alas! for that day is great, so that none is like it: it is even the time of Jacob's trouble, but he shall be saved out of it.
8For it shall come to pass in that day, saith the LORD of hosts, that I will break his yoke from off thy neck, and will burst thy bonds, and strangers shall no more serve themselves of him:
9But they shall serve the LORD their God, and David their king, whom I will raise up unto them.
Ezekiel 34:23-24 (King James Version)
23And I will set up one shepherd over them, and he shall feed them, even my servant David; he shall feed them, and he shall be their shepherd.
24And I the LORD will be their God, and my servant David a prince among them; I the LORD have spoken it.
Ezekiel 37:24-25 (King James Version)
24And David my servant shall be king over them; and they all shall have one shepherd: they shall also walk in my judgments, and observe my statutes, and do them.
25And they shall dwell in the land that I have given unto Jacob my servant, wherein your fathers have dwelt; and they shall dwell therein, even they, and their children, and their children's children for ever: and my servant David shall be their prince for ever.
Hosea 3:4-5 (King James Version)
4For the children of Israel shall abide many days without a king, and without a prince, and without a sacrifice, and without an image, and without an ephod, and without teraphim:
5Afterward shall the children of Israel return, and seek the LORD their God, and David their king; and shall fear the LORD and his goodness in the latter days.
It is interesting to read Psalm 89 which I quote here in part, which is about King David.
Psalm 89:26-29 (King James Version)
26He shall cry unto me, Thou art my father, my God, and the rock of my salvation.
27Also I will make him my firstborn, higher than the kings of the earth.
28My mercy will I keep for him for evermore, and my covenant shall stand fast with him.
29His seed also will I make to endure for ever, and his throne as the days of heaven.

Re: JPee Holding refutation thread
Isn't it ironic that folks complaining about Holding supposedly "ad homing" his way through debates would choose to mock him by childishly misspelling his name. Perhaps a more appropriate thread title would be "Come here to cry about getting spanked by JP Holding!"
