Anybody got any tips to make me get over the terror I feel just thinking about taking my new one out of the box??

I think my mom owns one -- or at least some kind of fancy overlock machine -- other than that, I know nothing about them. I'm sure her advice would be something like:

I like Sparky's advice the best.
But the thing has been sitting there in the box for 3 weeks now while I finished up some other sewing projects.
I want to make myself some nice fleecy warm jammies, but I am afraid.......
But okay, I will open the box.

Do just like you would teach a new student on the sewing machine--get a few scraps of material to play with, read the directions, and go to town. You can't ruin scraps, and it's not like the serger's going to raid the refrigerator or chase the cat around the house.

Okay, it's out of the box and set up. They threaded it for me at the factory.......
........so I just had to tie my thread to theirs and pull the threads through.
Now. I think I am going to have to make a cover, because it ain't getting unthreaded enough to put it back in the box for storage.
So, before I play, and/or watch the video, I am going to make a cover for it. May as well make one for the sewing machine as well, while I am at it.
