Disney to allow gay weddings.
http://today.reuters.com/news/articl...src=rss&rpc=22
Disney have decided to allow gays to participate in their Fairy* Tale Wedding programs, provoking the usual outcries of 'OMG gay agenda!' from the Southern Baptist Convention. I say good for Disney. Not that it gets much gayer than a Disneyland wedding anyway."We are not in the business of making judgments about the lifestyle of our guests. We are in the hospitality business and our parks and resorts are open to everyone,"
-Disney Parks and Resorts spokesman Donn Walker

> Insert your own fabulous fairy pun.
To rebel against a powerful political, economic, religious, or social establishment is very dangerous and very few people do it, except, perhaps, as part of a mob. To rebel against the "scientific" establishment, however, is the easiest thing in the world, and anyone can do it and feel enormously brave, without risking as much as a hangnail. Thus, the vast majority, who believe in astrology and think that the planets have nothing better to do than form a code that will tell them whether tomorrow is a good day to close a business deal or not, become all the more excited and enthusiastic about the bilge when a group of astronomers denounces it.

Re: Disney to allow gay weddings.
Ok, easy there. While Mr. And Mrs. Pilgrim did not have a wedding at Disney, we did spend 4 days of our honeymoon there. At the Port Orleans resort to be more specific. And it was awesome. Did you know that Disney World is the number one honeymoon destination in the world? Or at least is was back then.

Mental image of Mickey Mouse and Donald Duck in matching tuxedoes.
A human being is part of a whole, called by us the Universe, a part limited in time and space. He experiences himself, his thoughts and feelings, as something separated from the rest--a kind of optical delusion of his consciousness. This delusion is a kind of prison for us, restricting us to our personal desires and to affection for a few persons nearest us. Our task must be to free ourselves from this prison by widening our circles of compassion to embrace all living creatures and the whole of nature in its beauty.

Re: Disney to allow gay weddings.
First, gay marriages aren't legal in Florida, so I don't imagine these are legal weddings. Second, don't they actually call these "Fairy Tale Weddings"....

Why in the world are conservatives so opposed to... Oh yeah. The "gay" thing.
BTW, could it be that Disney is afraid of being sued for discrimination if they refused? Cowardly, but understandable.
