I likes it! Howzabout you, JPH?

That's it, just make something up! You don't have to explain everything.

On the other hand, it doesn't have to be a plastic equivalent at all. If I have correctly extrapolated the story, someone cheated in a weight lifting contest with fake weights, so all you need is something light that can be shaped and painted to look like real weights. Some equivalent of balsa wood, perhaps?

Some of them might even be edible, but that's not a requirement.

Really, that might be the best solution for you, JPH: Come up with a Tilkrig George Washington Carver, and some plant that was treated as something between a weed and pig-chow before he dedicated his life to unraveling it, and you can account for plastics or anything else you might need. You don't have to go into scientific rational for any of it unless you just want to (certainly, it would be great to incorporate the think-work that Teal has put into it; all I'm saying is that you don't need to worry about going to that length the next time you need to justify some product, just say it was also a by-product of "GWC"'s pioneering work with coynanut plants).

      Hehehe.

Of course, Teal, it wouldn't have to be corn per se... after all, I'm sure hearthstone has abundant plant life, and it would surprise me if they hadn't done more investigation into what they can do with them...
JP, do you know (i.e. have you decided ) how much they've applied genetic engineering? It seems plausible that they could have, at least recently, genetically engineered some plant for purposes like that... wouldn't surprise me to see something like that even in our world. If modern society lasts.

I envision that Sk'lan as being far, far ahead of everyone else on that; but everyone else will at least have gotten that sort of genetic engineering going to the level we have it, perhaps a bit more. The Drovines would be the ones in the lead on this, though.

True. Plus that whole thing with Beamer's name actually being B'mer . . . isn't that a Sk'lan thing? It might be unnecessary to have an apostrophed name if that's the case. I'm not sure what normal Tilkrig naming conventions are, so . . . hm.

It won't be quite as bold a meeting as you might think....keep in mind Brom's an international celeb and traveller.

I don't mind saying that the meeting occurs in a public venue where Brom is signing autographs...he'll have been acting as a goodwill ambassador to celebrate 30,000 revs of peace between the Prycenes and Elapines...

As for silly...on that, you'll have to wait to decide.

Also nice to have just two more RP #1 scenes to redo. The next one won't see any changes to the story but the last scene will contain some new material.

Call it....three and a third more pages, I guess.

I'm also dividing up the formerly last scene of RP #1 into two installements; it's longer than I thought.

Actually, that would be a good idea from another stand point - you really have already got two endings in RP #1.
