Wolfowitz Scandal

Yet another BuEDITMEEDITMEEDITMEEDITMEe caught in scandal and yet again President Bush simply says we fully support him. Come on, just once, just once, call a spade a spade and hold one of your own accountable. If there was any party that did that, it would get my vote hands down."Yes, I'm quite concerned about health care issues surrounding leaked radiation from Japan. Now, please pass me my super sized, bacon double cheeseburger, combo meal..."
When I was young I admired clever people. Now that I'm older I admire kind people.~Rabbi Abraham Heschel
My most recent faith struggle is not one of intellect. I don't really do that anymore. Sooner or later you just figure out there are some guys who don't believe in God and they can prove He doesn't exist, and some other guys who can prove He does exist, and the argument stopped being about God a long time ago and now it's about who is smarter, and honestly, I don't care. ~ Don Miller Blue Like Jazz

Re: Wolfowitz Scandal
Maybe I'm missing the big bad here. Granted, not ethical (but is it uncommon) behavior shown in this instance?

Re: Wolfowitz Scandal
Oh, ok, as long as enough people do the same unethical thing it's ok. Right.
He promoted his own girlfriend, and if you believe her statements he forced her to take positions in the word band that she didn't want. He used is position to force her into something she didn't want. That's bad enough in itself. Then you add into it the fact that he has positioned himself as the "anti corruption" head of the World Bank and you get a whole different issue."Yes, I'm quite concerned about health care issues surrounding leaked radiation from Japan. Now, please pass me my super sized, bacon double cheeseburger, combo meal..."

Re: Wolfowitz Scandal
Yes, Pilgrim, that's what I meant. I think as long as everyone does it, it's ethical. *rolling the eyes*
I'm saying that the uniqueness of this case is hardly anything special. It happens everywhere and that it happens with a Neocon Republican, I'm hardly surprised. But what makes this such particularly big news?
That point does give the issue some ironic flavor, indeed. Then you add into it the fact that he has positioned himself as the "anti corruption" head of the World Bank and you get a whole different issue."I am an alien spouse of female military personnel en route to the United States under public law 271 of the Congress." - Capt. Re: Wolfowitz Scandal
Somehow I really doubt that Bush has anything to do with this, and somehow I think this is just an excuse for an anti-bush rant.

Re: Wolfowitz Scandal
I never said that President Bush had anything to do with it. Except for the fact that the White House released a statement in full support of Wolf saying the stand firmly behind him. Given the recent statements regarding Gonzalez that are identical it sort of caught my attention.
Perhaps I am making too much of it, it was just one of those, "Geesh, another one?" moments."Yes, I'm quite concerned about health care issues surrounding leaked radiation from Japan. Now, please pass me my super sized, bacon double cheeseburger, combo meal..."

Re: Wolfowitz Scandal
Things like this happen with all government administrations. There's a reason govt. is considered a 'neccessary evil'.

Re: Wolfowitz Scandal
I support Wolfowitz. The World Bankers hate him and that is the real reason he is being forced out. Yeah, he screwed up Iraq royally, and was the wrong man for that job, but he is the right man for this job, and I like to give him a second chance. I am all about the admin having some accountability, but I'd like to see this thing play out. Any party that decide to call a spade a spade at the cost of effectiveness will never get my vote and will never govern successful. It'll be Jimmy Carter after Jimmy Carter.
Meh.

Um, when did this change from anything but a man paying a woman he liked more into forcing her to do things?
