2 letter word - change 1 letter
BE
I think people might be surprised at how far this game can go!
Each post in the thread is either correct, or incorrect. The rules determine which posts are correct. The winner is the first correct post to appear in the thread with no other correct post subsequent for more than 24 hours. Everyone who has participated in the game up to that point must send the winner a pearl.
The umpire will identify the winner. I am the umpire.
Rules
- The first word of the post must be a two letter English word that can be found at Miriam-Webster online. (Webster's seems to be down at the moment; perhaps my last game killed it.) Note that it must be a word; not a symbol or an abbreviation. Mirriam Webster has entries for those as well; so check that it is recorded as a word. It's pretty generous in what it allows!
- The first word of the post must not be a repeat of the first word in any previous correct post of the thread.
- The first word of the post must have at least one letter in common with the first word of the most recent previous correct post in the thread.
Feel free to post "incorrect" posts to argue rules or wrangle over words. Note that anything goes as long as the on-line Mirriam Webster gives it as a word of some kind. Some things I would call abbreviations it still lists as words. For example, "ag" is an adjective, meaning of or related to agriculture: sample use: "ag school".
This post, by the way, is correct. Check out the first word, and good luck.
Note that for any given two letter word with different letters, there are exactly 99 other different two letter patterns that have at least one letter in common with it, about half of which you can toss out immediately as lacking a vowel. If you are really dedicated, you could check them all out in the on-line dictionary.
Cheers -- Sylas
