Cancer cure, watcha think?
Vigilante: When will Pixie realize she digs me Mononoke?
Mononoke: Maybe never.
Vigilante: I don't know if I can live with that Mononoke.
Mononoke: Would you like to know? Try it.

Re: Cancer cure, watcha think?
If the drug already exists it can be prescribed off label by any physician right here, right now, today. Physicians will often prescribe a drug for an off-label use based solely on antecdotal evidence. If the research results are that promising, drug companies aren't the only source of research funds. Do you think that the American Cancer Society would fail to fund research on a promising drug because it was widely available, non-patented and relatively cheap? Here's the big catch. Pharmaceutical companies probably won't invest in research into DCA because they won't profit from it. It's easy to make, unpatented and could be added to drinking water. Imagine, Gatorade with cancer control.
Methinks someone got turned down for funding because his evidence for the benefits of the drug was less than convincing.I have been honored as an Enemy of Nee™ and LAu Tzu hasn't!

The deputy Chief Medical Officer for the American Cancer Society seems to agree with you :
http://abcnews.go.com/Health/CancerP...2848454&page=4
Further, an interesting paper :
http://scienceblogs.com/terrasig/200...cancer_ker.php
Both mention the occurence of liver cancer in tested rats.
The drug already exists and is sold over the Internet. As a cancer survivor, I would strongly caution other cancer victims to build hopes over DCA. The current goal for some of us is to apply treatments which will extend our longevity. Some cancers are easily treatable but uncurable.Remaining in remission for as long as possible with the current FDA approved treatments IMO is a realistic and reachable goal.
I am quite concerned that some folks may switch from their standard treatments to self prescription of DCA.
From all the research I did upon recieving my diagnosis, the current trials of a vaccine using cells from the pre existing malignant tumors are far more promising than DCA. Moffitt Cancer Center and Research Institute in Tampa is working actively on human clinical trials.
