This is an open forum area for all members for discussions on all issues of science and origins. This area will and does get volatile at times, but we ask that it be kept to a dull roar, and moderators will intervene to keep the peace if necessary. • Graham's Number

Discuss. I don't know where the best place to put a math thread is, so I put it in the science area. From a theistic perspective, God fully comprehends this number, correct?
If it weren't for the Resurrection of Jesus, we'd all be in DEEP TROUBLE!

While I do not grasp the significance of Graham's Number. It is safe to say God fully comprehends this number. God being omniscient.

I take your Graham's number and raise you Graham's number plus 1. Sparko's Number.

It's a finite number. It's just a ludicrously large finite number.

You're deliberately trying to break the universe, aren't you?

Actually, the definition of "Sparko's Number" is whatever number you come up with plus one. So it is always the largest number in any universe.

(I got the idea from watching "Let's Make a Deal")

Mathematics is abstract at its foundation. The "real" world is finite (at least the world of human experience.) Numbers greater than say 10^90 have no practical meaning.

Your question boils down to "Is God sovereign in the abstract world of axioms?"

Basic philosophy of maths is interesting here. Platonists say that new results already exist and need just to be discovered. In that case, an omniscient God would already know the result.
