Glory Seed Guidelines

Notice – The ministries featured in this section of TheologyWeb are guests of this site and in some cases not bargaining for the rough and tumble world of debate forums, though sometimes they are. Additionally, this area is frequented and highlighted for guests who also very often are not acclimated to debate fora. As such, the rules of conduct here will be more strict than in the general forum. This will be something within the discretion of the Moderators and the Ministry Representative, but we simply ask that you conduct yourselves in a manner considerate of the fact that these ministries are our invited guests. You can always feel free to start a related thread in general forum without such extra restrictions. Thank you.

These daily devotionals are brought to you by Gary Piper, a writer with our Sister Site, Natural Spirit Ministries. TheologyWeb encourages you to visit and support their site.... they have many informative articles which can be discussed right here. If you enjoy Gary Piper's devotionals, please send him an encouraging note or post. We are very appreciative of our partnership with Natural Spirit Ministries and look forward to many more co-ventures.

Glory Seed Devotionals, 2016: Year of the Blessing
    Ask Wednesday…

“You do not desire a sacrifice, or I would offer one. You do not want a burnt offering. The sacrifice you desire is a broken spirit. You will not reject a broken and repentant heart, O God.” (Psalm 51:16–17, NLT)

Yesterday we talked about Lent being a time to get our life (house) in order with God so we could move into His House, probably most of us have already made the move however like King David who had made the move at an early age. However, later in life found himself facing eviction because of an indiscretion. We too (speaking only for myself) have committed acts of indiscretion. Once King David realized his indiscretion he immediately repented (started getting his life back in order with God).

“Have mercy on me, O God, because of your unfailing love. Because of your great compassion, blot out the stain of my sins. Wash me clean from my guilt. Purify me from my sin. For I recognize my rebellion; it haunts me day and night. Against you, and you alone, have I sinned; I have done what is evil in your sight. You will be proved right in what you say, and your judgment against me is just.” (Psalm 51:1–4, NLT)

It is so easy to say, “LORD, I am sorry please forgive me,” and then feel good about myself. However, saying I am sorry is not repenting the hardest part (for me anyway) in repenting (getting my life (house) in order is getting past the guilt of dishonoring Jesus’ sacrifice for me. King David dealt with his guilt this way, By following King David’s prayer I too ask for the LORD’s help in dealing with my guilt. “Don’t keep looking at my sins. Remove the stain of my guilt. Create in me a clean heart, O God. Renew a loyal spirit within me. Do not banish me from your presence, and don’t take your Holy Spirit from me.” (Psalm 51:9–11, NLT)

And now for the for the GOOD NEWS! “But if we confess our sins to him, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all wickedness.” (1 John 1:9, NLT)

One last thought doing “acts of evil / wickedness” does not make us evil or wicked, however failing to “get our life in order with God” is a big step in that direction.

Finally, be strong in the Lord and in the strength of his might!
    Grace and PEACE, Amen!
    Gary
