Glory Seed Guidelines

Notice – The ministries featured in this section of TheologyWeb are guests of this site and in some cases not bargaining for the rough and tumble world of debate forums, though sometimes they are. Additionally, this area is frequented and highlighted for guests who also very often are not acclimated to debate fora. As such, the rules of conduct here will be more strict than in the general forum. This will be something within the discretion of the Moderators and the Ministry Representative, but we simply ask that you conduct yourselves in a manner considerate of the fact that these ministries are our invited guests. You can always feel free to start a related thread in general forum without such extra restrictions. Thank you.

These daily devotionals are brought to you by Gary Piper, a writer with our Sister Site, Natural Spirit Ministries. TheologyWeb encourages you to visit and support their site.... they have many informative articles which can be discussed right here. If you enjoy Gary Piper's devotionals, please send him an encouraging note or post. We are very appreciative of our partnership with Natural Spirit Ministries and look forward to many more co-ventures.

Glory Seed Devotionals, 2016: Year of the Blessing
    Lent, a time of celebration…

“God sent a man, John the Baptist, to tell about the light so that everyone might believe because of his testimony. John himself was not the light; he was simply a witness to tell about the light.” (John 1:6-8)

There was only one John the Baptist. There is only one Gary Piper (some may have the same name but there is only one me). There is only one you (some may have the same name as you but there is only one you). “The Word gave life to everything that was created, and his life brought light to everyone. The light shines in the darkness, and the darkness can never extinguish it.” (John 1:4–5, NLT) Each one of us stands against the dark as a unique and unrepeated glimmering light but we are not the Source of Light. We are reflectors of the Light. Yet while the Light from the Source shining on and reflected by us is the same because of our uniqueness each of us add the imprint of our lives to the Light giving it a unique Hue.

Not only does the Light illuminate our lives it also empowers us be points of light for the purpose of shedding light on lives darkened by day-to-day adversities. “You are the light of the world. A city located on top of a hill cannot be hidden, nor do they light a lamp and place it under a basket, but on a lampstand, and it shines on all those in the house. In the same way let your light shine before people, so that they can see your good works and glorify your Father who is in heaven.” (Matthew 5:14–16, LEB)

I believe that at Easter more than any other time of the year is the value of our lives more illuminated. At the same time I also believe at Easter more than any other time of the year is the call for humility more illuminated. “For God so loved the world that he gave His only Begotten Son,” the gospel of John reads. Perhaps the bible does not use these exact words but its message is loud and clear to me, “Jesus loved you and me so much he gave his life for us on a wooden cross.”

Because of Jesus’ death and resurrection, the only death we really need to celebrate is the death of sin, your sin, my sin!

Finally, be strong in the Lord and in the strength of his might!
    Grace and PEACE, Amen!
    Gary
