Heroes - worth sticking with?
So, Heroes began last night in the UK (well, it has been available on the SciFi channel for a while, but I don't get that). They showed the first two episodes; I thought they were reasonably fun, but somewhat "bitty", never really getting going.
I struggle to stick with series as I can't guarantee that I will be around to watch them. So, is it worth me persisting with Heroes?"To see a world in a grain of sand,
And a heaven in a wild flower
Hold infinity in the palm of your hand,
And eternity in an hour"
William Blake

Re: Heroes - worth sticking with?
Yes. It starts off slow but it gets more interesting as the season goes on.
"Years ago, I mean decades ago, I read a quote about politicians performing quid pro quo favors for campaign cash, and whether or not we could prove it. The guy who was quoted opined that it was difficult to determine. He noted that in many cases, the payoff might not take the form of votes on legislative action -- those might be detectable, and so are avoided -- but could take subtler forms, like the question that is never asked at a hearing.
The media's doing a terrific job of not asking questions it doesn't want to know the answer to. It doesn't ask these questions in bulk, and the great volume of questions it doesn't ask makes it cheap to not ask questions.
And it passes these savings on to you, the customer." Ace

Stick with it. By the 3rd episode you'll be very glad you did.

Re: Heroes - worth sticking with?
I saw it online, via NBC.com (they have the entire first season to watch in good quality for free) and I liked it. I still like LOST better, but that's just a personal issue. Some cool stuff happens but you have to stick with it. If you aren't interested in the first few episodes, I doubt you will be interested later.
I'd stick with it, unless you really get bored!"The road goes ever on and on, down from the door where it began. Now far ahead the road has gone and I must follow if I can. Pursuing it with eager feet until it joins some larger way, where many paths and errands meet. And whither then? I cannot say." - Tolkien

Oh, yes, it is worth it!

Yes!!!!!!!!!!
And as already said, you can catch the episodes online as well so you never have to worry about missing one. I had to do that a few times.

Hmmm... yeah.... kind of. It does get better. But I found the season finale to be a tremendous disappointment. Some of the storylines are dullish and some are exciting, but two of them at least were worth watching from my POV. And my husband LOVED it. *shrugs*
