Tuesday night PBS will start airing a three part Nova series on human evolution called "Becoming Human". Here's a link to a preview video of the show.

Also, and I'm not going to post any links for it, but I read a review in the Dallas Morning News of a new illustrated version of Genesis by Robert Crumb. Yes, the R. Crumb who brought us Mr. Natural and Fritz the Cat. If the artwork is anything like the example page printed with the review it's bound to be visually stunning, but the reviewer does allude to some of the more salacious sections of Genesis getting the full R. Crumb treatment.

Looks great. Can't wait to hear the screams and wails from the Fundies.

Yup ... stay tuned, boys and girls, for some "real science" ...

Bwahahahahahahahahahahahaha

Sorry about that, I couldn't keep it together after referring to that trash as "real science".

Saw part one last night. Pretty neat graphics, lots of good information covered. Sometimes they had to gloss over the interesting technical bits as this was produced for a lay audience. This is an understandable problem for pretty much all NOVA science specials, cramming decades of research and evidence into a few hours. Looking forward to the next part.

I think he was referring to the Robert Crumb version of Genesis.

In case anyone missed it (I did, and I plan on watching it some point in the near future), PBS has a video of part 1:
