Based on his escapades in that thread, I'm inclined to say no. He went several rounds with me defending the video as a "spot on" refutation of Christianity, but when I kept pressing him and he finally found his back against the wall, he admitted that he actually doesn't know that much about Christianity at all and was basing his opinion of the video on what he's "heard" or some nonsense like that.

He might be an intelligent guy, but he ended up looking like an idiot in that exchange.

One can disagree with another and not push these attributes to the forefront. It is a choice that one makes once they have the social skills to employ. This is very lacking within this forum as it is with many others around the world. Not to just place such things directly on the head of this forum as it is also something that thrives in everyday life. We see it on the news day after day with all the fighting and wars around the globe. I guess I really shouldn’t even complain about it as I know it falls on deaf ears and has little to no effect on anyone. It is written that many will be given over to a reprobate mind to go after their own lust, their own thoughts, their own feelings above and beyond that of the wants and wishes of Elohim. They will make every sin, and abomination, right in their own eyes and will also worship that of the created over the Creator. It has all been foretold and will all come into being as it is here today without any discourse or obstacle. There is nothing that will sway these judgments that have already been enforced from the beginning and will proceed until the end. The guy that made this video (a man who seems to have some anger issues in addition to obvious mental health issues) thinks he is Elijah and that he is fulfilling the prophecy of Malachi 4:5! He also believes he is the "restrainer" of 2 Thess 2 and that when he is "taken out of the way" America will be destroyed by fire.


I first came across this guy when I found one of the comments he had left on someone else's video. The comment he left was: "I am the restrainer. Elijah in the flesh is Michael in spirit. Sent to return the hearts of the fathers to their children and the hearts of the children to their fathers. I am he who believes John 1:12 with the faith that is not found among men. I am who I am. As for the maker of this message (video), be happy because it's a miracle of God that the truth of my identity was revealed to you. You are reading from an apostate bible. This, of course, struck me as more than a little weird, so I asked him whether I was understanding him correctly and was he really saying that he was Elijah. His response: "Yes I am and very soon the entire world shall see it and fear God in heaven. For God is not a liar and He has indeed sent me to explain all the mysteries of the bible. In the near future I will explain all things. Keep watch and prepare for yourself treasure in heaven by obeying Christ." Finally, I asked him if he thought he was the "restrainer." I was almost de-converted when they argued that Josephus doesn't count as evidence for the historicity of Christ because Josephus wasn't a contemporary of Jesus.

I'd like to argue to one of them that Jesus wasn't a contemporary of Jesus and see what they say.
