I don't know - but it's a safe bet the power is going out later today as Hurricane Dennis comes inland. They can't make up there minds, but it looks like my side of the state will be getting some high winds after all. I saw some power trucks doing some work on my way home from church, so it looks like it's gonna be messy up my way. On the bright side, the winds have diminished somewhat and it hasn't made landfall yet. That's expected at 3:00 Central.

Anyone else live in the area of effect? I'm in West Central Alabama - and there are shelters openning up here now.

Ya'll remember to pray for those in the worst of the storm. I'll see ya later - when the power comes back on!

Be safe. Don't forget to light a few beeswax candles if your power goes out.

Thanks guys.

It hit land between Pensacola and Mobile. It's rainy but not bad right now where I am. Everything's been tied down or put up - or is on the porch to come in (not that Scooter likes that very much...). The Weather Channel has a reporter in downtown Mobile and it's not looking to bad right now.

I'm a 150 miles inland of Mobile so I'll see it tonight.

Sorry, Furay, don't have any beeswax - paraffin and oil lamps will have to do!

Hi!

I lost power and had a few tree limbs down, but otherwise it was fine. I've seen worse thunderstorms.

Thank the Lord, no one was killed or injured that I know of.

We are facing an enormous and dramatic clash between good and evil, death and life, the 'culture of death' and the 'culture of life'. We find ourselves not only 'faced with' but necessarily 'in the midst of' this conflict: we are all involved and we all share in it, with the inescapable responsibility of choosing to be unconditionally pro-life. --John Paul II

This day I call heaven and earth as witnesses against you that I have set before you life and death, blessings and curses. Now choose life, so that you and your children may live --Deuteronomy 30:19

Go on... I dare ya. -- Xavier

Thanks guys! Hopefully they'll get the power back on today and I can spend the afternoon putting all the lawn stuff back out. And I got to mop the porch - not too bad, really!
