    True.
well no not exactly. But my point was that the plot theme is nearly always mutants being hunted or controlled by humans and fighting back. Move on. Just have the mutants accepted and have the heroes fight the supervillians trying to destroy the world like other superhero movies, Spiderman, Batman, Superman, Thor, etc.

You noticed they made that reference in the pilot?

Oh, the same guy who directed X-1, 2, and 3 does this series. Bryan Singer.

what a stupid theme for a show

It's not clear (after one ep.) where things are in the timeline, and the extent to which the show is part of the goobered up "continuity" of the movies. The "Sentinels" at this point seem to be small spidery things, and it's not at all clear that they can actually "detect" mutants and distinguish them from regular people. So the mutant-detecting Trask Sentinels that would have come online during the Nixon Administration but for Wolverine's efforts in DoFP never came to pass.

And the Avenger movies where they register the super heroes. It's all variations on the same theme: people are scared of the mutants and want to control or eliminate them.
When did that idea start? Watchmen? The Dark Knight graphic novels? Earlier? I remember back in the '60s or so there was a small hint of that. JJJ mainly hated Spidey, but he wasn't big on *any* of the super-beings.

I think the whole registration thing started with The Civil War series with Marvel.

You're assuming I don't already watch Star Trek.
