This is not a wave that is knocking out all sorts of Republican incumbents." CNN's chief political analyst Gloria Borger soon followed with the admission that "there is no tsunami. There's no tsunami coming." Obama's former Green Jobs czar and regular CNN contributor Van Jones wore his emotions on his sleeve bemoaning that "this is heartbreaking, though. It's heartbreaking" while trying to rally the troops to "continue the fight" and to "fight forward."

Meanwhile over on MSNBC they were also visibly shaken and upset but also angry. About the same time Tapper on CNN was acknowledged there was no blue wave Savannah Guthrie, who recently replaced Ann Curry as co-anchor of Today conceded that "it is not a total blowout on the part of Democrats" followed by former NBC Nightly News anchor Tom Brokaw solemnly declaring "Donald Trump and his followers are still intact." Meet the Press moderator Chuck Todd chimed in also admitting that there was "not a blue wave." Brokaw would later put the blame on Pelosi and Schumer and suggest it was time for them to step aside.

Disaster averted: Trump just third president in 100 years to gain Senate seats in midterm election while losing House seats

To me, this is really nothing about which to crow.

Oh there is crowing from all sides - that is for sure. I just don't see the justification. The hyped "blue wave" was substantially muted, so the discord in the Democratic ranks didn't do much to further their agenda. And the Reps lost ground. "We lost less ground then other presidents" is not exactly a huge win. In the Senate, Trump ranks in the top 4. In the House he ranks in the bottom 12. So ... meh...

My big concern is that Trump has become normalized. His brand of interaction - his invective and lying and seeking vengeance for the least slight is becoming... meh... That was my biggest concern when he was elected, and it is proving to be true. How sad for us as a nation...

Well, um.... how to say this politely... given your penchant for using words more differentlier than many of us, can you provide some examples of this "crowing", or provide your definition as to what constitutes "crowing"?

I actually don't use words differently.

Crow (third def): say something in a tone of gloating satisfaction.

well crowing is kind of like tweeting but louder right?

Trump has been tweeting all morning about what a magic man he is and what a great victory he got in the Senate and totally ignoring the loss in the House.

                      That's definitely crowing.

The response around here, at least, seems to be more like, "Yeah, pretty much what was expected."

I've seen one allegation that Trump didn't put much/any effort into House races, and this was because losing the House might actually help him in the long run. I haven't seen backup for where he was campaigning, though.

I provided the definition. I didn't provide examples. I think I'll let you roll back through this thread to find examples from the right. You can check the Twitter feeds of almost any Republican or Democratic winner in Congress for examples from both the left and right. Trump's posts tweets are another good example. Watch Fox or CNN for any 10 minute period for more examples.
