We really need a thread devoted so some of the more ridiculous things this man has said. This one just came across my news feed:

I didn't see the report from the intelligence. When you read it, it is a lot different than what is covered in the news."

Somehow, he doesn't seem to find the second sentence odd in the context of the first. Maybe he gets them read to him.

I would love to see when/where he said that. As far as I know, Trump has been on a tear against the 4th estate since the beginning of his campaign - perhaps before.

I actually don't need to project - I can just read and listen to the news - follow my facebook feed - read the various sites I visit - listen to conversations in my classroom - on the train and plane and everywhere else I go - and the reality is fairly evident: Trump is a significant focus for many, many Americans - hence the observation.

What is the broader context? You need to provide links to quotes so we can see for ourselves. Maybe he was talking about not seeing it before hearing about it in the news then he read it.

I actually don't need to project - I can just read and listen to the news - follow my facebook feed - read the various sites I visit - listen to conversations in my classroom - on the train and plane and everywhere else I go - and the reality is fairly evident: Trump is a significant focus for many, many Americans - hence the observation.

Of course he's in the news. He's the president. What do you expect? This has been the case for every president in my lifetime. But that doesn't mean I choose to obsess over it myself, even when it's a president that I thoroughly dislike. The way liberals like you seem to fixate on Trump is probably not mentally healthy.

I have had a daily habit for years now. I get up, grab a cup of coffee, and bring up the headlines on my computer. Since 2000 I have done this almost every morning. That is across three presidents. I can safely say that neither Bush nor Obama were at the top of the news feed anywhere near as often as Trump. With Trump, it is almost every day. I have traveled widely since 1991. That's across 5 presidents. I can safely say that no other president is as consistently the subject of overheard conversations, in-class conversations (despite my efforts to keep politics out of the classroom), or family conversations (again, despite my efforts to steer discussions elsewhere). It's not about being president. It's about being Trump. It's about America having voted for office a man as vile and polarizing as Mr. Trump.

Unhealthy? Absolutely. Health will (hopefully) begin to reassert itself when the man is removed from his office. I look forward (with hope) to a 2020 "you're fired!"
