Transliteration:
pesountai hoi eikosi tessares presbyteroi enōpion tou kathēmenou epi tou thronou kai proskynēsousin tō̧ zōnti eis tous aiōnas tōn aiōnōn kai balousin tous stephanous autōn enōpion tou thronou legontes;
Translation (NRSV):
the twenty-four elders fall before the one who is seated on the throne and worship the one who lives forever and ever; they cast their crowns before the throne, singing,
Analysis (Zerwick):
πεσοῦνται : future of πίπτω : they will fall.
εἴκοσι τέσσαρες = 24.
προσκυνήσουσιν : future of προσκυνέω : they will worship.
βαλοῦσιν : future of βάλλω : they will throw.
στέφανος : crown.

καὶ διὰ τὸ θέλημά σου ἦσαν καὶ ἐκτίσθησαν.
Transliteration:
axios ei, ho kyrios kai ho theos hēmōn,
labein tēn doxan kai tēn timēn kai tēn dynamin,
hoti sy ektisas ta panta
kai dia to thelēma sou ēsan kai ektisthēsan.
Translation (NRSV):
“You are worthy, our Lord and God,
to receive glory and honor and power,
for you created all things,
and by your will they existed and were created.”
Analysis (Zerwick):
ἄξιος : worthy.
ὁ κύριος : vocative.
λαβεῖν : aorist infinitive of λαμβάνω : to receive.
ἔκτισας : aorist of κτίζω : you created.
διά : by reason of.
ἦσαν : existed.
ἐκτίσθησαν : aorist passive of κτίζω : they were created.

Transliteration:
Kai eidon epi tēn dexian tou kathēmenou epi tou thronou biblion gegrammenon esōthen kai opisthen katesphragismenon sphragisin hepta.
Translation (TEV):
I saw a scroll in the right hand of the one who sits on the throne; it was covered with writing on both sides and was sealed with seven seals.
Analysis (Zerwick):
δεξιός : right ; δεξιά (understand χείρ) right (hand).
καθημένου : participle of κάθημαι : τοῦ καθημένου the one who sits.
βιβλίον : papyrus roll, book.
γεγραμμένον : perfect passive participle of γράφω : written.
ἔσωθεν : (from) inside.
ὄπισθεν : (from) behind, on the back.
κατεσφραγισμένον : perfect passive participle of κατασφραγίζω : sealed up.

Transliteration:
kai eidon aggelon ischyron kēryssonta en phōnȩ̄ megalȩ̄; tis axios anoixai to biblion kai lysai tas sphragidas autou?
Translation (TEV):
And I saw a mighty angel, who announced in a loud voice, “Who is worthy to break the seals and open the scroll?”
Analysis (Zerwick):
ἰσχυρός : strong, mighty.
κηρύσσοντα : participle of κηρύσσω : proclaiming.
ἄξιος : worthy.
ἀνοῖξαι : aorist infinitive of ἀνοίγω : to open.
λῦσαι : aorist infinitive of λύω loose ; release, hence break seals.

Transliteration:
kkai oudeis edynato en tō̧ ouranō̧ oude epi tēs gēs oude hypokatō tēs gēs anoixai to biblion oute blepein auto.
Translation (TEV):
And no one in heaven or on earth or under the earth was able to open the scroll or to look into it.
Analysis (Zerwick):
ἐδύνατο : imperfect of δύναμαι : (no one [οὐδείς]) was able.
ὑποκάτω : below, underneath ; used as preposition with genitive under.
βλέπειν : present infinitive of βλέπω : ?to look inside.

Transliteration:

Translation (TEV):
And I began to weep bitterly because no one was found worthy to open the scroll or to look into it.
Analysis (Zerwick):
ἔκλαιον : imperfect of κλαίω : I began to weep.

Transliteration:
kai heis ek tōn presbyterōn legei moi; mē klaie, idou enikēsen ho leōn ho ek tēs phylēs Iouda, hē rhiza Dauid, anoixai to biblion kai tas hepta sphragidas autou.
Translation (TEV):
Then one of the elders said to me, “Do not weep. See, the Lion of the tribe of Judah, the Root of David, has conquered, so that he can open the scroll and its seven seals.”

Transliteration:
Kai eidon en mesō̧ tou thronou kai tōn tessarōn zō̧ōn kai en mesō̧ tōn presbyterōn arnion hestēkos hōs esphagmenon echōn kerata hepta kai ophthalmous hepta hoi eisin ta [hepta] pneumata tou theou apestalmenoi eis pasan tēn gēn.
Translation (REB):
Then I saw a Lamb with the marks of sacrifice on him, standing with the four living creatures between the throne and the elders. He had seven horns and seven eyes, the eyes which are the seven spirits of God sent to every part of the world.
Analysis (Zerwick):
μέσος : middle; ἐν μέσῳ in the middle, repeated is Semitism for between ... and ....
τέσσαρες = 4.
ζῷον : animal, here living creature.
ἀρνίον : lamb.
ἑστηκὸς : perfect (with present meaning) participle of ἵστημι : standing.
ἐσφαγμένον : perfect passive participle of σφάζω : slaughtered.
ἀπεσταλμένοι : perfect passive participle of ἀποστέλλω : sent.

Transliteration:

Translation (NRSV):
He went and took the scroll from the right hand of the one who was seated on the throne.
Analysis (Zerwick):
εἴληφεν : perfect of λαμβάνω, aoristic perfect, understand as object "the book".
δεξιός : right ; δεξιά (understand χείρ) right (hand).
καθημένου : participle of κάθημαι : τοῦ καθημένου the one who was seated.

Transliteration:
Kai hote elaben to biblion, ta tessara zō̧a kai hoi eikosi tessares presbyteroi epesan enōpion tou arniou echontes hekastos kitharan kai phialas chrysas gemousas thymiamatōn, hai eisin hai proseuchai tōn hagiōn,
Translation (NRSV):
When he had taken the scroll, the four living creatures and the twenty-four elders fell before the Lamb, each holding a harp and golden bowls full of incense, which are the prayers of the saints.

Transliteration:
kai epoiēsas autous tō̧ theō̧ hēmōn basileian kai hiereis, kai basileusousin epi tēs gēs.
Translation (NRSV):
You have made them to be a kingdom and priests serving our God, and they will reign on earth.”
Analysis (Zerwick):
ἐποίησας : aorist of ποιέω : you have made.
βασιλεία : a people under the kingship of God or rather eschatological : kingdom, dominion, sovereignty.
ἱερεύς : priest.
βασιλεύσουσιν : future of βασιλεύω : they will reign.

Transliteration:
kai pan ktisma ho en tō̧ ouranō̧ kai epi tēs gēs kai hypokatō tēs gēs kai epi tēs thalassēs kai ta en autois panta ēkousa legontas; tō̧ kathēmenō̧ epi tō̧ thronō̧ kai tō̧ arniō̧ hē eulogia kai hē timē kai hē doxa kai to kratos eis tous aiōnas tōn aiōnōn.
Translation (NRSV):
Then I heard every creature in heaven and on earth and under the earth and in the sea, and all that is in them, singing, “To the one seated on the throne and to the Lamb be blessing and honor and glory and might forever and ever!”
Analysis (Zerwick):
κτίσμα : creature.
ὑποκάτω : below, underneath ; used as preposition with genitive : under.
καθημένῳ : participle of κάθημαι : τῷ καθημένῳ : to the one seated.
κράτος : might, sovereignty.
εἰς τοὺς αἰῶνας τῶν αἰώνων : for ever and ever.

NA27 Text (Revelation 5:14):
καὶ τὰ τέσσαρα ζῷα ἔλεγον· ἀμήν. καὶ οἱ πρεσβύτεροι ἔπεσαν καὶ προσεκύνησαν.
Transliteration:
kai ta tessara zō̧a elegon; amēn. kai hoi presbyteroi epesan kai prosekynēsan.
Translation (NRSV):
And the four living creatures said, “Amen!” And the elders fell down and worshiped.
Analysis (Zerwick):
τέσσαρες : four.
ἔλεγον : imperfect of λέγω : they said.
ἔπεσαν : aorist of πίπτω : they fell down.
προσεκύνησαν : aorist of προσκυνέω : they worshipped.
