So here you sit looking at your computer, which is no more than a window anyhow.

Are you ready to reach in through the screen (metaphorically speaking,..of course) and say those three words, that every Christian longs to hear?

"I am ready"

If not, ...why not ?

Are you ready to show how God's existence can be determined before assuming it?

I'm ready to believe anything that can be shown to be true instead of false.

I'd settle for a post that actually said something. I'm a big boy now, I don't need pictures in my reading.

The term "stud muffin" makes no sense. When was the last time you saw a muffin and thought, "At last! I have found the father of my children."?

Are you ready to show how God's existence can be determined before assuming it?
You have been here for six years, and I am sure that out of the 8 000+ posts you have made, there must have been one time that you were almost convinced that God exists? One time when you almost said, 'I am ready' ...?
I know for a fact that I cannot argue at the level that you argue with others here, and it was not my intention to engage anyone but merely to learn why someone as intelligent as yourself ( and so many others here) are still in undecided.

I'm ready to believe anything that can be shown to be true instead of false.
So then of the things that Christian believe, what do you believe to be true ? Love thy neighbour as thyself ? ...

The time of his return is something that is hidden from our minds, though certainly there are enough people who claim to know when it will happen.
He asked us to be ready now, for that very reason. If we knew when he would return, then we might be tempted to think we could say, 'Okay I will live a life and do what I want, and then just before I die, I will make myself ready.' The problem is that I believe that if God is calling you now, to make ready and you put it off, each time you do it gets just a little bit harder each time to do that. If he is calling then I guess it must be our time. .

Sincerely,
HH

I don't believe Jesus was god.
Hi Serafina.
That is perfectly understandable, and I think that it is best not to begin there. I must admit that it was not the deity idea that drew my interest to Jesus, but his teaching. There are so many aspects to what he taught that are appealing to me, and I am sure to many Buddhists too. He said things like, 'I am meek and lowly in heart and you shall find rest to your souls.'
As a child I was fortunate to have a mother that lived what he taught and so I got a sense of the tenderness of Christ through her spirit. Her ways were the ways of love and tenderness, forgiveness and kindness. She was not a complicated person and got the Master's words first time. I wish that I had not taken so long to appreciate that.
My own understanding of Jesus' identity was very slow, but was helped along by a personal encounter when I was 19. In the years that followed, I read carefully through his teaching and there does seem to be a sense that he was more than just one of guys. Well at least in as much as the New Testament documents describe him. I only really got into the byblos once I had encountered his spirit. I only encountered Christians and Church, and the history of it all, afterwards. By then I was already acquainted with Jesus. A personal experience is not something that can be surrendered for those who believe in empirical evidence, but it is certainly something that happened to me as it seems to have happened to many others.
Some I know personally, I read the accounts of others.

Sincerely,
HH

"Among all my patients in the second half of life, that is, over
thirty-five, there has not been one whose problem in the last
resort was not that of finding a religious outlook on life.
It is safe to say that every one of them fell ill because
he had lost that which the living religions of every age
have given their followers, and none of them has really
been healed who did not regain his religious outlook."

That reminds me of a song from the early 'Resurrection Band' albums - "Awaiting Your Reply"

'When a letter came in from Him
Saying I was dead
It was signed in blood, it was mailed
Into my heart'

Yet it takes more than simply posting a picture to make a point. Yes, sometimes pictures CAN convey as much meaning or more than words. That takes context, and you've never provided that.

I'd argue none, and for very good reason.

Seeing as you did not provide a good reason, I can only conclude that you have none.
