----It's very common knowledge that our church has given assistance in various forms to other churches when they were in need--stuff like helping with repairs when a church building was damaged by a storm. In such events, we never charge for the materials and labor we donate.

--I would like to find out why you think that is the case--why would calvary chapel refuse all donations from Mormons?
For the simple reason that Calvary Chapel believes mormonism is a cult. What fellowship does light have with darkness?

---If Cal. Chap. suffered a disaster and was in need of help, would it accept charity from, say, the Catholics? Pentecostals? Westboro Baptists? The Lions Club or BPOE? A local Jewish organization? The Boy Scouts? (I heard they use weird recognition handshakes and their flag has stars that are 5-pointed)

I think the Mormons want so desperately to be seen as Christians that they have allowed this "strange alliance" between themselves and evangelicals in the hopes of getting more acceptance among the broader evangelical world.

The evangelicals are naive enough to believe that they come into the Mormon tabernacle and preach the evangelical Christ and the evangelical gospel and convert the Mormons.

If a particular Calvary Chapel was in need they would turn to other Calvary Chapels and would also rely on other Christian denominations which mormonism is not a part of. Just so you are aware most if not all Calvary Chapels do not even pass an offering plate or talk about tithing as we trust that the Lord will provide for his church through any circumstance. Furthermore what would that say about a church that is relying on donations from a cult?

question

It does not make good sense either way.

Either it is that the LDS prophet Joseph Smith was told not to have anything to do with all the other churches is true.

Or

The evangelical Bible believing Christians are to follow the Apostle Paul's earlier warnings (2 Corinthians 11:4, 13-15; Galatians 1:6-9) in the matter.
