Yes, I know it's a few days until December, but I won't be online much (if at all) again until December 2, so I needed to start this now....but also, this was a good place and time to get feedback on 2009 Platinum categories as well as any instant winners.

Here's the categories:

At-Large

Christian E-Mail

Non-Christian Theist

At-Large E-Mail

John Loftus

At-Large Website

Skeptic Website

TWeb veteran

Christian website

Skeptic E-Mail

Famous Skeptic

Famous Christian

TWeb noob

Skeptic

Loftus' Useful Idiots

The only "instant winner" I'd like to suggest is under "Famous Christian". I think Kermit Zarley (aka Servetus the Evangelical) deserves that one hands down.

But if anyone wants to suggest other "instant winners" for any category, please do so. Feel free also to suggest in any category who should be on the voting bloc. I try to mark in the features who will be Platinum nominees, but I can accept more.

Due to rampant stupidity by Skeptics, and time issues, I'm only going to be on TWeb in my own (tektonics.org) section from now on. Deal with it.

Tweb Noob instant winner: Yo Lunch.
Oh, I forgot: He'll have his own category. He'd definitely win otherwise.

Considering his head size, is it any coincidence Loftus shows up after "at large"?

People aren't moral and rational because some sort of religion or atheism has automatically put that moral or rational thinking in them; people are moral and rational because they are the image of a loving and wise God.

The guy we just met who thinks that women aren't part of the church and insurance is of the devil and Jesus would never play sports should definitely be nominated in the Christian website category.

“It often happens that even a non-Christian knows a thing or two about the earth, the sky, the various elements of the world, about the movement and revolution of the stars and even their size and distance, about the nature of animals, shrubs, rocks, and the like, and maintains this knowledge with sure reason and experience. It is offensive and ruinous, something to be avoided at all cost, for a nonbeliever to hear a Christian talking about these things as though with Christian writings as his source, and yet so nonsensically and with such obvious error that the nonbeliever can hardly keep from laughing.

. . . There is no telling how much harm these rash and presumptuous people bring upon their more prudent brethren when they begin to be caught and argued down by those who are not bound by the authority of our Scriptures, and when they then try to defend their flippant, rash, and obviously erroneously statements by quoting a shower of words from those same Sacred Scriptures, even citing from memory those passages which they think support their case, ‘without understanding either what they are saying or things about which they make assertions’ (I Tim. 1:7).”

Well, if women shouldn't utter anything at all in church, what place do they really have there?
